“I originally picked Ramada for the parking, but the stay completely exceeded my expectations. The room was the best of my whole South Island trip — spacious, with a comfy king-size bed, washer/dryer, and a fully equipped kitchen. Absolutely loved it!”

“I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Elms in Christchurch. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with everything I needed for a relaxing visit. The location is convenient, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt warm and welcoming. A special shoutout to Rajendra at the front desk; he was exceptionally friendly, professional, and helpful throughout my stay. From check-in to answering questions with patience, he truly went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. His hospitality made the experience even better and gave the hotel a very personal touch.”

“We stayed here couple nights with our 5mth old baby, while in transit in Chch due to flight issues. Nice place close to city center with free wifi, comfy rooms, and clean & tidy facilities. All staff we interacted with at Front desk, housekeeping, and morning breakfast were friendly and polite. $24* for a staple breakfast buffet which had enough on there to get us started for the day. We were in a stressful situation with our holiday logistics, and staying here was easy and everything was perfect. Thanks again team! Guru & Becky. Dunedin”

“This room gave you everything you need in the centre of Christchurch within easy walking distance of food, shopping and the river. The shape of the room and bathroom was a bit quirky, but overall serviceable, with a large comfortable bed, desk and sizable balcony looking over the Christchurch Tramway. There is a small wall heater in the room, but the room was a nice temperature (visiting in September). There was a small issue with the room allocation at the beginning, but this was resolved by staff quickly. I was placed on a first floor room, just above the tram line. It wasn't very disruptive, but you could hear it in the room. However, it is what it is and is quite a unique hotel location.”

“Peppers Clearwater really blew us away. We booked a Lakeview Suite through an Accor Plus More Escapes deal that came with breakfast, a three-course dinner, and a cheese platter with a bottle of wine – such great value. The suite itself was gorgeous, the perfect spot to unwind and recharge. Sitting out on the deck watching the ducks and swans glide by, with the sun setting over the lake, was just magic. The staff made the stay even better – both the bar and restaurant teams went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. Dinner was a real highlight: duck salad and grilled scallops to start, then fish and lamb for mains, and tiramisu plus panna cotta for dessert. Every dish was spot on. Breakfast the next morning was à la carte with excellent barista-made soy lattes, and I have to say, the eggs benedict was the best I’ve ever had. We were lucky with the spring weather too, and enjoyed our cheese platter and wine out on the deck in the sunshine – pure bliss. The little touches also made a difference, like being able to do a load of washing and plug in our rented Tesla overnight in the garage. We honestly couldn’t recommend Clearwater more. Huge thanks to all the staff for making us feel so welcome and completely spoiled.”

“We had a very pleasant stay at Sudima Christchurch Airport Hotel and stayed in the Premium King Room. We were checked in by the friendly Wade, and we would like to thank him for his professionalism and warm hospitality. His calm composure while managing multiple big group of check ins at once was truly impressive and worth mentioning. Our hotel room was clean and comfortable, and we really appreciated the pillow menu, which gave us a great night sleep. The location is also extremely convenient, it was just minutes from Christchurch Airport and within walking distance to Woolworths and several nearby food places. The free parking for hotel guests was another big plus. We also had dinner at Acheron at level 1, and were served by the welcoming Alan. We overheard he’s still a student, but we were genuinely impressed by his friendliness and service. Overall, a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. Would happily return!”

“We stayed here in August '25. Really nice hotel. I stayed in room 402, the view wasn't great, but the room was A+. This room has a full kitchen, washer/dryer, king sized bed, large living area with huge TV. The hotel is located across the street from the Town Hall (where my wife's conference was). Everything Christchurch proper has to offer is easily walkable from this location.”

“This place is Amazing! We had a wonderful time there! The room are tidy, beds are clean and comfortable, bathroom is shining! The most impression for me are the paintings. The owner said his wife did them! She must be a life loving person! That’s probably why the rooms are so tidy and clean! The owner is very friendly and nice! He recommended a lot of good restaurants and fun places for kids! We had a wonderful in Christchurch! This is the most valuable and comfortable motel in my whole trip! High Recommend!!!”

“I arrived in Christchurch on a red-eye flight for a solo trip and was a bit nervous since it was my first time staying in backpacker-style accommodation—especially arriving at 2am. I spent two nights in the all-female pod room and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was great, with a diverse mix of ages and travellers. The facilities were clean, from the shower and toilet block to the kitchen. It’s also super convenient, with a grocery store, café, and car hire all just a short 2-minute walk away. The staff were wonderful—relaxed, friendly, and very accommodating. I’d definitely stay here again, especially for late-night or early-morning flights. Downside: Pod aircons could do with a service. Mine was a little noisy and struggling to cool my pod (This is the only reason why I did not rate the room 5 stars) I can sleep through the aircon but if your a light sleeper, I’d recommend booking a private room rather than a shared room.”

“This place has a very confident hotel and the room number was four. There were three beds and the shower was comfortable and hot shower was hot and comfy. I know the owner is a little bit strict about the hotel rules, but if you use it nicely he will say nothing so I love this hotel. There is a free wifi there too! I recommend this hotel to everyone!”

“We had the most amazing time here and didn’t want to leave! Perfect location just a bus ride into the city which leaves from outside. The room was perfect exactly what we needed and the bed was so comfortable. The food in the restaurant/bar was amazing and extra points for the good Guiness which my partner said was the best one he’s had in New Zealand!! Top class service and hospitality, shoutout to the manager who really engaged with us throughout our trip and who was always up for a chat, he took care of everything we needed throughout our trip and made us feel so welcome. Would definitely recommend staying here to everyone traveling to Christchurch and would love to return again.”

“We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with our two children for 3 nights. We really wanted a 24 hour reception as we were arriving in the middle of the night local time. It was a perfect and easy check in, our room was very large, perfectly cleaned and with wonderful views. It was refreshing to have the room serviced daily (something that most hotels have stopped!) and we could not fault the room. We didn’t have much to do with the staff but those we did were friendly and helpful. The best part was the hotel location. A perfect spot for what we needed - right across the road from a wonderful strip of cafes and restaurants, a laundrymat and bottle shop right next door and 5 minutes walk to an epic kids playground! I would recommend this hotel to families visiting Christchurch. I am grateful we decided to book here for the first few nights of our family holiday.”

“A B&B run by a very friendly, warm and welcoming couple. Norm and Maggie went out of their way to make my stay at their home an enjoyable and comfortable one. They even made supper and placed it the room with the heater and TV going ready for my arrival. Topped off with a full and hearty breakfast in the morning. Enjoyed the conversation and their company (including their dogs). Will certainly be back.”

“Staying in Room 8. This is by far THE BEST accomodation I’ve ever stayed in. Owners and house keepers go above and beyond. It’s safe. It’s quiet. It’s well priced. It’s got everything you need away from home. I absolutely will stay here again and again.”
