“We stayed in Rm 2 and Rm 6, the rooms are very clean, bed are very comfortable and the kitchen are very nice and clean. The location are close to everything park, restaurant, supermarket and mall. The host is friendly and vey good service. We will stay again and again... we found a good place to stay.. Thanks Roger..”

“This is our go to when staying in Christchurch. With young kids, they are safe because when you open your front door you are in a secure courtyard, not right into the car park. Across the street there is also an awesome playground. The rooms are large and clean. The courtyard has aplenty of space, picnic tables and a BBQ. Perfect for family groups or sports teams.”

“My stay here was quite pleasant. I arrived past check-in hours. So, they emailed me the code to the lockbox outside the lobby to retrieve my key. My room was on the second floor. There were two convenient sets of stairs. The room was clean, quiet and well-equipped. I had a rental car and there was ample free parking. There were some reasonably-priced snacks and sodas in the room available to purchase. I spent $10 over the course of a few days and it was worth it. I will definitely stay here again. Front desk staff was very helpful.”

“Really impressed with this motel for the price! The room was clean, modern, and spacious. The room was large enough to have an infant cot and still good space around it. The kitchen was petite but exactly as I expected for a studio. The bathroom was spacious, with nice amenities, and great shower pressure. Nice toilet paper too! Haha. Also impressed that our room was serviced even though we only stayed two nights in total. Great location, a short drive to Riccarton Westfield Mall, Tower Junction, and a short walk to a great cafe Addington Co Op.”

“Fantastic service. I came with my daughter in a wheel chair, but could not get the chair into the bathroom. They upgraded me no charge to a bigger unit where the bathroom door was wider. Could not have been more helpful. :)”

“Wonderfully clean and tidy motel in a great location. I was unsure about whether there would be a lot of traffic noise but it was amazingly quiet as the units are double glazed. Good kitchen facilities, and friendly staff. We would happily stay here whenever we are in Christchurch”

“Okay, so I have reviewed this place already. But I feel it worth it to add another positive review after my last few stays. Have stayed at 162 many times now. It's fairly short drive from the airport makes it a convenient overnight halt for me. The rooms are well appointed and clean. The owner is a absolute delight to deal with, his customer service is above and beyond. Showers have great pressure, rooms are toasty and warm, and beds comfortable with quality linen. Full Sky TV offered, and the motel is across the road from the Westfield mall. Waking up in a motel on Christmas morning is never fun, but I was glad I was staying at 162! Thanks team, keep up the great work!!!”

“The owner is passionate, caring, and really accommodating albeit a bit crazy (I mean that lovingly). The room smelled great and was clean. This my fault for not reading clearly, but the room doesn’t have air con and there is no fan. I just came from Antarctica and therefore super hot- maybe it wouldn’t have been a big deal otherwise. PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE BOOKING THROUGH A THIRD PARTY- Agoda made things really difficult for the owner and me by overbooking. The location was good for me due to what I needed but it’s a bit far from central. With everything said, I’d stay here again for the owners genuine.”

“Great value hotel with a delightful host. We were lucky to find the Executive Suite available at short notice before New Year's Eve. The room had a very comfortable bed and everything we needed for a great stay - excellent shower, large kitchenette, TV, iron etc. Bronnie was extremely helpful and friendly, standing out even in a country of full lovely people. The only slight annoyance was the occasional loud vehicle speeding down the road outside but short of replacing the French windows to the balcony, there is not much Bronnie could do about that. I hope to stay again! Thank you.”

“Wonderful stay! Check in/out was simple. Rooms were very clean and beds were comfy. Really well priced for the room we got. Location was perfect. Saw a few reviews about road noise but we had absolutely no issue with road noise, motel is positioned towards Hagley Park and therefore surrounding buildings block the noise from Moorhouse Rd. Would absolutely stay here again!”

“Have stayed here at least 10 times. A great comfortable stay every time. Super great value with free parking for two weeks, and a shuttle to and from the airport. Parking is $25 per week after the free allotment which is really reasonable. The rooms are dated, but very clean, and i have always slept well here. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Will be back!”
