Had a great stay at LyLo Christchurch! The receptionist was incredibly accommodating, professional, and genuinely kind, a special shout-out to her even though we unfortunately forgot to get her name. The hotel is budget-friendly, clean, and surprisingly spacious. Its location near the airport is very convenient, and it’s also easily accessible to restaurants and supermarkets, which made our stay even better. Overall, a comfortable and hassle-free experience. Highly recommended and would definitely stay here again!

I arrived in Christchurch on a red-eye flight for a solo trip and was a bit nervous since it was my first time staying in backpacker-style accommodation—especially arriving at 2am. I spent two nights in the all-female pod room and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was great, with a diverse mix of ages and travellers. The facilities were clean, from the shower and toilet block to the kitchen. It’s also super convenient, with a grocery store, café, and car hire all just a short 2-minute walk away. The staff were wonderful—relaxed, friendly, and very accommodating. I’d definitely stay here again, especially for late-night or early-morning flights. Downside: Pod aircons could do with a service. Mine was a little noisy and struggling to cool my pod (This is the only reason why I did not rate the room 5 stars) I can sleep through the aircon but if your a light sleeper, I’d recommend booking a private room rather than a shared room.

Great value for money and very convenient to walk from the airport. Friendly and helpful staff at reception. Well signposted apart from bathrooms, but not hard to find. Clean and modern. Lovely big lounge and kitchen! Pods were good sized and cosy. Blackout curtain worked very well. One flat pillow so woke up with a sore neck and common areas had a bit of a stale odour. Room doors make a loud click which cant be avoided so earplugs were handy to have

Landing at 1am in the morning and having this so close to the Airport was great. The lady at the check-in desk was amazing and super friendly, especially considering how late it was. This was my first time staying in a shared room and I loved it, and I was a little concerned considering how tall I am, but the Pod was comfy and I was able to fit in. This is 100% better in service and cleanliness than the one in Queenstown. The only downside was having to pay extra to store luggage, but the prices for that were at least reasonable and fairly cheap. I will definitely return.

Ricky at reception is fantastic! He is the most hospitable staff I've ever encountered at this type of accommodation. He deserves a medal! Hangout area (lounge & kitchen) is huge, tranquil, and very relaxed. Showers are good with place to hang dry clothes and hot water with great pressure. The whole place is very quiet despite being close to a highway and obviously close to the airport (7min walk). The pods are spacious and comfortable. I'm tall and I fit in with room to spare. Each pod has a power socket, lights, extractor fan (which sadly is quite noisy), a smoke detector, and place to keep valuables. I will definitely choose LyLo in the future where it fits my travels.

Room is compact and clean. Not perfect on noise isolation. Some restaurants nearby. Good for one night stay to catch early flight.

Booked last minute after a cancelled flight - room was clean, comfortable and the staff were great. I didn't use any of the other facilities (just too tired!) but it is super close to the airport, countdown and an array of food outlets. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay near the airport. Close to bus links into the city also.

Absolutely lovely place to stay, I got a pod & it was so cosy & comfy! It had usb and plug charging in there, great metal lockers underneath the bed too! The communal space is beautiful & big too, it was always busy in there so perfect for solo travel! I stayed 2 nights before a flight & im glad I did stay 2 nights! I would definitely stay here again! Bargain for what you get!

Have stayed in the pods twice now: the first night was good but the second night was constantly interrupted by people moving in and out of the shared room. It can’t be avoided but if you want a guaranteed good nights sleep then consider a private room. Common areas are excellent and clean and the staff were super friendly and helpful.

I recently chose to stay here as my international flight was arriving approx. 1am, and I only had to sleep for the night before meeting up with a tour group the next day. I'd never stayed in a Pod, so I thought I'd try it for once. It must be said that these are likely only suited to you if you're backpacking on a budget. It was not for me and I probably won't do it again. Things I was disappointed and put off by; 1. It's strange that even though specific pods are allocated to people at booking, you allow and encourage anyone to sleep in whichever one they want once they go to the room. 2. Many of your lockers under the pods simply don't work and leaves belongings unsecured. I tried at least 3, after reading instructions carefully and all failed to lock. 3. There is no individual control of temperature. It was stinking hot in my pod and I couldn't do anything about it. 4. I had to enter my room/pod in the dark as the room was filled with people sleeping at 1am. There is zero instructions on how to turn the light on for your own pod anywhere. But most disappointing here, was that I messaged the 24 hour chat to ask how to control this, and they did not respond for around 8 HOURS! Apparently according to the reply, the unmarked black gloss surface is a touch panel - you'd need to be a magician to work that out as it has no labelling on it at all. I can accept value given for budget accomodation. I can't accept lack of timely customer service.
