This happened back in April, but it’s a terrible memory. When I came back late at night, I met someone who was complaining that the room next door was too noisy. It had nothing to do with me, but I tried to help and looked for a staff member for them. Because it was the middle of the night, I couldn’t find any staff. Later on, a staff member misunderstood that person’s complaint and wrongly assumed that I was the one making noise. They strongly complained to me, and when I protested, they even threatened to call the police. Staff training needs serious improvement. I was only trying to help someone out of goodwill, and I almost had the police called on me because of a misunderstanding.

I’ve been staying at this backpackers hostel for the past 2 weeks , and my experience has been very good. The stay was comfortable, the facilities were well-maintained, and the environment was friendly. Overall, a pleasant and hassle-free experience.

The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Because of our mistake, we booked the wrong dates, and they promptly resolved the issue for us. We are truly grateful. The room was cozy and comfortable, and the public areas were well-equipped. Thank you again to the staff for their help, which made our night a very pleasant one.

We checked in after 4:30pm, and things started off a bit rough. There was no parking available, even though the listing on their website said “free parking .” We were then told it’s actually first come, first serve basis. I have a ligament tear in my knee, so we parked in the disabled parking space briefly (around 30 minutes) with the receptionist’s permission. But we made sure to move it soon after, as we know someone else might genuinely need that space. Personally, I think there should be parking available for paid hotel customers. The room looked okay at first, but there was an odd smell that lingered the entire stay. We had just finished a 3-hour drive, so we rushed to freshen up. The shower and toilet were clean, with great water pressure and instant hot water—which we appreciated. But the showerhead was placed quite low, so my tall husband had to bend to use it. Also, ventilation in both the bathroom and room was minimal. The bed was comfortable, the duvet was warm, and the heater worked great. We were cozy, but still couldn’t get much sleep due to the noise. Doors were constantly being shut throughout the night, and people were talking right outside the rooms. The walls were thin, so we heard everything—even during late-night bathroom visits. Overall, it had some positives like cleanliness and warmth, but the lack of parking, noise levels, and poor ventilation really impacted our stay. Might be okay for a short visit if you're not a light sleeper—just don’t count on guaranteed parking.

One of the best places to stay if you have a large sporting group, accomodation to suit all comforts and budgets and best of all their is a onsite restaurant and bar. The beds are super comfy and the rooms are lovely and warm. I highly recommend.

Coming back from a holiday in Aus. I needed a decent bit of r'n'r. I booked my studio room by email. The transition was simple, and the service was prompt. My flight arrived after 12 am. They left me instructions to collect room key. The room itself was very tidy and warm. I had booked a studio. The location is amazing. So close to town and a bar next door if you feel like a beer and a feed. I will definitely be back in the future.

Convenient location for group at St Albans. Beds hard but okay for singles, struggled with low height especially for older person. Suggest similar to base height of larger bed. Having restaurant on site is bonus.

We stayed at the place for two nights during June2-4, the room was great and bed was good as well, however after we went back from dinner and tried to get in the room the door was not able to open. We went to front desk for help and the lady was willing to help but the door was still not workable for us. During these period we were only able to access from balcony door and tried to not lock when we were out. Toilet cover was too old but it doesn’t harm. When we checked out on June 4th, front desk staff said we only paid for one night fee, we paid the fee by cash when we checked in and didn’t get the receipt in that moment, after clarified with staffs that on duty on June 2th the misunderstanding was resolved. For the people who is going to pay in cash in the future please ask staff for receipt or something that can prove it. But this place is still okay for us, the room was big enough and it’s also a good choice in Christchurch and it’s near to downtown. If you are heading to place to stay on weekend kindly be aware the parking space might not be enough as restaurant might be busy, you can park your vehicle in next street.

Decent hostel, but not social. Beds, showers and toilets are good. People working at the reception sometimes look a bit moody. The location is perfect for parking your car. Don't plan on using the kitchen. It's too small for the amount of guests and gets really dirty quickly.
