   This is a hotel with a lot of character. The room we had was spacious and very clean and tidy. It was a bit on the dark side without a lot of natural light but there was plenty of electric lighting to compensate. The room was quiet and peaceful and had a good shower and plenty of windows that opened to allow fresh air in. The shower was lovely with plenty of space for toiletries. Personally I would have liked a small kitchen bench, microwave and slightly larger fridge with a bit of cutlery, plates and bowls. We like to make our own sandwiches and heat things up and this room although it had a tiny fridge and a wooden border table it didnt really allow for that. The cleaning staff were wonderful. They were friendly, competent and very accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure we had enough towels, coffee, etc. This was much appreciated. There was enough parking and it was easy to get in and out. It is a short drive to town and local takeaway places. We had a great stay Thank You!

   The rooms are great, very spacious and the beds are comfortable, however the bathroom is starting to look very tired but this is reflectedbin the price. Our dinner last night in the restaurant was a bit average and the aervice in the restaurantwas lacking. This is our second stay here now and we will return but will dine at another establishment.

   We stayed here for one night on Oct. 18th 2025 and had an amazing night! The hotel is magnificent. It was totally unexpected and a welcome sight after our long day getting to Christchurch. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend staying here. The room was well appointed and the bed was so comfortable. And the shower was so good! Thanks for having us!

   I love this hotel, had an excellent stay, I would come back and recommend for sure! So much character, and the details.. string lights, flowers. The rooms look modern and new yet they kept the older style/character so well. Surprised how good heated tiles in the bathroom make me feel. The staff and service have been perfect too.

   I had a great stay at Scenic Hotel Cotswold. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean, tidy, and comfortable—just what you need for a relaxing visit. The location was also a big plus, being close to amenities which made it super convenient for getting around. Overall, I was really happy with the service and the atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others looking for a comfortable and well-located place to stay.

   We very much enjoyed our stay at Scenic Hotel Cotswold, while visit CHCH with my dog. The stylish rooms, the service, the location, everything was perfect! My dog got a pupcake, bedding and bowls for her stay. We will be back! :)

   To all Tour Operator, I am a Tour Guide. You have to think twice and consider your client if you want to put them in this hotel. The receptionist won't listened to thier guest. I checked in to this hotel late evening after a long day trip. Right away told the reception "pls do not put me away at the back and dark area (as a female) staying by my self" What happened ??!! She (the receptionist) is right away put me at the back room and dark area. In the mean time she put my co worker (male) at the front room (bright area) closed to the reception. What the hell happened ? She was easily said to me " you can swap with your friend if you want". No consideration at all. I will never stay to this hotel anymore and not recommended ever to my clients.

   Some of the rooms are pretty dated, it's largely just aesthetic, but the lack of air conditioning is a bit of a nuisance. The price point is good, so provided you show up expecting a $100-150 room you'll be happy
