Everything about this hotel is excellent—its rooms, facilities, and outstanding location—except for the experience at reception, specifically with the receptionist, Jacqueline Wong. Unfortunately, she single-handedly left a very unpleasant first impression of what is otherwise a terrific hotel. The check-in process was unnecessarily arduous and uncomfortable due to her consistently unfriendly, unwelcoming demeanour. As front-of-house staff, the expectation is to facilitate a smooth check-in, answer questions, and help resolve minor issues. Instead, her attitude made the process feel needlessly torturous and unprofessional. Initially, I assumed this behaviour might have been personal. However, a friend who checked in an hour later had an identical experience with her, confirming that this was not an isolated incident. Hotel management should seriously address this issue, as such behaviour detracts significantly from the overall guest experience. Placing her in a non–front-facing role may be worth considering. If you are prepared to look past the reception experience with Jacqueline Wong, I can confidently say that the hotel itself—its rooms and location—is absolutely magnificent

Solid Stay, Zero Regrets I stayed at Quest Cathedral Junction and honestly liked almost everything about it. The room was surprisingly spacious, well-set up, and spotless — exactly what you want after a long day of roaming around Christchurch. The facilities were on point, everything worked, and nothing felt cheap or tired. The location is ridiculously convenient — right by the tram line, close to the city centre, and easy to get around without feeling stuck in a noisy area. And for the price? Honestly, very fair for what you get. Overall: clean, roomy, comfortable, well-located, and well-priced. I'd happily stay here again.

We stayed in 11A and we were very disappointed the price we paid for the room we got, it was nothing like your photo's on your website. We stayed in hotel's in Auckland and Wellington that were cheaper then yours and so beautiful with great view's and beautiful bathroom's. Staff well it was hello and goodbye, when checking out didn't even ask us how our stay was. The other Quest up the road was only $80 more and was beautiful compared to this place. Yours is more like a hostel but more expensive. Sorry for the bad feedback but just telling your the truth

Location is awesome...walkable to many central attractions and the tram is right at the door. My studio was huge and clean. Comfortable bed too! Friendly and helpful staff topped it all off.

The hotel is excellent in terms of location, cleanliness, and organization. The main building is located on the main street as shown on Google, while the building we stayed in was along a side street just behind it — very easy to access. There’s also a tram stop right next to the hotel entrance, and a back street full of restaurants and great for walking. We spent one night there before continuing our trip, and it was a comfortable and memorable stay.

Great location to live, it was a wonderful experience. The rooms are big enough and equipped with almost all the basic facilities. Microwave, toaster, tea options available in the room. This hotel is slightly different than conventional hotels because the kitchen services are outsourced. They provide voucher for breakfast and can use them in nearby breakfast shops.

I am an avid stayer of any quest hotel, however this one has let the franchise down immensley. From trying to find a carpark in the basement that i paid $20 for one night when i had to cram my small car in and couldnt park properly due to pillars everywhere, an elevator that was tiny, and dirty, a room with no internal heating or electric blankets on beds when its winter down south and only a dyson blade to warm you up...it is very sub standard for the brand. At $220 per night there are better places to stay. The room was clean however and the guest service exceptional but i would rather pay high dollar and have ease of access and 24 hour concierge

Rooms small but ok. Beds very small unless you're skinny. No views but greatly location near restaurants, nightlife and tram.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!, the bathroom was full of mould, shower head holder broken, no internal aircon ( had a portable aircon that did legit nothing ) internet capped at 5 devices in a 2 bed room booking with 4 people staying there, the beds felt like going to sleep on a bouncy castle, 1 move and my partner would wake up, the only positive was how close it was to restaurants, would give a 0 if I could this room was disgusting. The staff are nice but that's about it.

Excellent location in the central city. We paid for parking, which was very convenient. Rooms were tidy and serviced quickly and politely. Would stay again.
