“My family and I have stayed at different motels over the years, and this one is our favorite by far. My youngest is on the spectrum and this place is his absolute favorite place. He is especially fussy about alot of things, but this motel just seems to relax him. My other children just love the vibe the rooms have. The staff are friendly and it's relatively close to shops. Given the chance, my kids would live at Tui lodge. Fantastic accommodation.”

“I had an excellent stay at Pine lake view lodge in a Twin bed studio, room was very clean, beds were made to a high standard and sheets very clean and soft. I slept like a log!! Politeness and manners go a long way in the Mainland and the proprietor was equally friendly and welcoming considering I booked through a third party quite late the same night even after he'd closed the office. I'd most definitely stay here again!! Cheers for a most pleasant stay”

“For anyone looking for a special treat then I highly recommend going to a Long Table Lunch. The service and the ambience is exceptional and you can just feel the history oozing out from inside and outside of the lodge. Chef Jimmy is an absolute whiz in the kitchen and it was a true honour to sample several of his masterpieces. I'd also like to praise the exceptional efforts the lovely Lucy took to make me and my octogenarian mother feel at home. She was a true star and we really appreciated her assistance during our meal and garden tour. It was a gorgeous excursion and an experience we will warmly cherish forever. “Peter and Tessa are exceptional moteliers, they go out of their way to accommodate the needs of their guests. They were prompt and reliable with airport pick-ups and were also very obliging with dropping us off at a family event. The motel rooms were large, light and airy, and very well equipped. We appreciated the space of the one bedroom unit. The gardens are immaculate and very colourful. We’ll be back!”

“Whilst attending my daughter's wedding celebrations, I booked three rooms, for three nights, for my family members travelling from Melbourne. I cannot speak highly enough of our hosts Frank and Jenny, who took us into and shared their home with us. The location is within walking distance of the village of Lyttleton and its services. Our hosts were attentive, friendly and supportive, but, not intrusive. Their rooms were a delight, comfortable, spacious and serviced daily, unless one signed that it was not necessary. Ensuites, heated towel racks, room heaters ensured a comfortable stay. The views over Lyttleton Harbour are breathtaking, complemented by the external open patio, complete with outdoor furniture and barbecue for guests to relax and enjoy. Complimentary cereals, yogurts, fruit, tea and coffees ensure a relaxing start to the day. Frank and Jenny are approachable, friendly and helpful, we enjoyed our stay and commend you to them when next you visit Christchurch or Lyttleton areas.”

The motel was perfectly located just across a major Supermart (Pak n Save), and their prompt service made check-in seamless. “I can’t speak highly enough about this motel and the awesome owners Brendon and Tina. They bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay, even allowing us an early check-in and late checkout to work around medical appointments. Brendon even brought in some mobility aids to make life easier in the unit. It was like a home away from home for us…spacious, clean, quiet, well equipped and very handy to some great eateries. They even had pot plants to give it a homely feel. We will definitely look forward to staying here again on our next trip to Christchurch.”

Close to the city and very reasonably priced, this was the best accommodation on this quick trip around the south island.”

“Staff were friendly and helpful. The Racecourse Hotel was quite central to catching up with family and friends. It also felt central to shops, supermarkets and places of interest. Our room was simple but comfortable with all that we needed. It had a tv, microwave, toaster and dishes. Our room was clean with towels changed daily. We extended our stay from 6 nights to 12 nights. We will certainly stay again when we venture down next time. Highly recommend. Great restaurant just across from our room and we had a few drinks at the bar where we won a couple of meat raffles. GREAT PLACE.”

The property is gorgeous, with a blend of English garden and natural, New Zealand landscape. The location is a great balance of proximity to shopping and attractions while maintaining a private, rural feel. Highly recommend!”
