The hotel was relatively quiet except for all the doors banging, which you can hear from your room---consider installing soft closing arms. Comfortable bed and pillows. The room was spacious enough, clean and well-supplied although including body lotion in the amenities is much needed. All 7 hotels (including another Ibis hotel in Wellington) that I stayed at during my nort- to-south islands trip in NZ supplied it, except this one. It's a strange management decision to "cheap out" on this cheap amenity, considering the well-recognized Ibis brand / Accor name. The onsite restaurant and bar should close after 10pm. The operating hours are stated as open "until late". 10pm isn't late when you're on vacation. Consider extending the closing time to 11pm. Staff in the hotel were professional, friendly and helpful. Great to have the self-service laundry machines in the basement (esp for an extended holiday).

Friendly welcome. Great central location on bus route from airport. Upgraded room spacious, clean with comfortable bed. Very good well priced dinner and excellent breakfast. Great value.

The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Christchurch, close to shops, restaurants, and major attractions. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making a good stay stay overall. However, a few small improvements could enhance the guest experience; such as adding basic toiletries, hotel slippers, coffee cup saucers, spoons, and offering better-quality milk for coffee!! Additionally, the loading bay area is often occupied by taxis waiting for passengers, which can make drop-offs and pick-ups difficult. It would be great if the hotel could manage this better to ensure convenient access for guests. Lastly, in this day and age, the slow Wi-Fi and the need to renew it every 24 hours are quite inconvenient and could definitely be improved.

Flight delayed so Airnz put us up overnight. Reception was easy to sign in and out. Room lovely, water pressure in the shower was odd as temperature kept changing. I was dining solo at the resturant, was seated and 5 other tables came in after me had their orders taken first, so waited quite awhile to eat my small plates. Food was alright but wouldn't order again, lamb ribs temperature wasn't very warm, sauce was a bit rich for my liking and arincini balls were piping hot but good.

Our stay was very disappointing. The room was extremely cramped — hardly any space to move around. The toilet exhaust was not working, making it uncomfortable. At check-in, we were told the hotel parking was full, and we had to pay extra for parking elsewhere. The breakfast was below average, and honestly, there are much better options available nearby through Airbnb. Overall, definitely not worth the money. It might be manageable for a solo traveler, but absolutely not suitable for families.

If you are looking for a convenient yet affordable place to stay in Christchurch city, this is it. Room and hotel in general were well maintained and presentable. I was quite impressed with it (furnishing, no dusty air vents, clean and spacious). My interactions were mostly with Ronak, and service was very helpful. Understand that their f&b offerings are currently still under renovation, so you will need to keep that expectation in check. Parking was a little pricey (obviously being in the city, nothing free), so I opted to park further away at Cranmer Sq (free). Overall would stay again.

I recently stayed at the Ibis hotel for a 5-day business trip, and it was a great experience. The staff were always welcoming and helpful, and I appreciated the convenience of reserved parking. My room was clean and comfortable, and it was nice to have plenty of dining options within walking distance.
