“Comfortable rooms, comfortable bed at a good price. Clean rooms, well serviced. Location is close to Riccarton / Westfield Mall. An easy walk to shop to you drop! Mc Donald's is also easy walking distance. Some staff at time did not seem to have english as a first language, but communicated ok... On Riccarton Road, so good access to central Christchurch city centre and also towards the main number 1 highway and airport. Good value for money in my view. Reccomend if you want a comfortable stay at a good price and location.”

“I was actually very impressed with the room 33. Very clean and cozy, well heated, comfortable bed, good hot water pressure in the shower, no noise, everything new, high quality and functional. Good selection of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, shampoo, conditioner. Large TV, hair dryer, additional blankets, pillows, towels etc available. Free parking just in front of the room. The reception was very polite and warm, offered milk, answered all queries. Required a small bond which was promptly refunded after check out. Room well serviced. Definitely way above expectations for the price. The location is also exceptional for central city events.”

“Had a wonderful stay here. My partner and I moved down to Christchurch so I can study at the university. We had nowhere to go and Colonial Inn offered us longterm accommodation. The staff were very welcoming and understanding of our situation. We are so grateful for the team. It's also really close to city center and bus stops nearby for anyone visiting. 10/10 recommend. Would definitely stay again if we move and come back to visit one day. Good affordable accommodation and lovely staff members.”

“booked for their shared toilet, double bed room, very nice host, very helpful and generous. Room are small but clean, the room doesn't come with toilet or shower so I have to get our from my room to the bathroom and locking my door on the way. But considering the price it's a nice choice. Though people who prefer less noise shouldn't choose this, as in the door are a bit loud. But I still give it a 10 for its kind service.”

“Very good place to take rent for a month with cheap price in new zealand. This property has shared kitchen and common lounge to chill and play card games. Bus stand is just besides of the property. Its very helpful for who don't own a vehicle. Grocery and dairys are very near from here.”

“I can not recommend Cheryl high enough, we had our 3 babies with her over Christmas just been (2023) for a week. Due to no fault of her own (our vet being lazy) our 11 month old kitten fell very ill, Cheryl went above and beyond and did everything she could for our precious peach. If you want to take your cats to someone who cares, you can’t get any better than Cheryl at 4 paws”

“Stayed here before flying out of Christchurch. Uber is around 50nzd to airport. Owner was amazing and loved some banter! Very accommodating and even though he had over bookings (because of third party booking apps) he made it work for us. Rooms are simple but have everything you need. There is a bar at the front and the staff are lovely there too. True kiwi hospitality! Chur!”

“For anyone looking for a special treat then I highly recommend going to a Long Table Lunch. The service and the ambience is exceptional and you can just feel the history oozing out from inside and outside of the lodge. Chef Jimmy is an absolute whiz in the kitchen and it was a true honour to sample several of his masterpieces. I'd also like to praise the exceptional efforts the lovely Lucy took to make me and my octogenarian mother feel at home. She was a true star and we really appreciated her assistance during our meal and garden tour. It was a gorgeous excursion and an experience we will warmly cherish forever. “Peter and Tessa are exceptional moteliers, they go out of their way to accommodate the needs of their guests. They were prompt and reliable with airport pick-ups and were also very obliging with dropping us off at a family event. The motel rooms were large, light and airy, and very well equipped. We appreciated the space of the one bedroom unit. The gardens are immaculate and very colourful. We’ll be back!”

“Absolutely beautiful little retreat, the rooms are the perfect size for a couples getaway, the views are incredible and the best part was the hot tub at night with the stars and one of the best wines we have tasted. We feel refreshed and renewed. Lots of extra details that made this place such a gem, from Bluetooth connectivity throughout the room to the luxury bathroom and of course the super comfy bed. “Whilst attending my daughter's wedding celebrations, I booked three rooms, for three nights, for my family members travelling from Melbourne. I cannot speak highly enough of our hosts Frank and Jenny, who took us into and shared their home with us. The location is within walking distance of the village of Lyttleton and its services. Our hosts were attentive, friendly and supportive, but, not intrusive. Their rooms were a delight, comfortable, spacious and serviced daily, unless one signed that it was not necessary. Ensuites, heated towel racks, room heaters ensured a comfortable stay. The views over Lyttleton Harbour are breathtaking, complemented by the external open patio, complete with outdoor furniture and barbecue for guests to relax and enjoy. Complimentary cereals, yogurts, fruit, tea and coffees ensure a relaxing start to the day. Frank and Jenny are approachable, friendly and helpful, we enjoyed our stay and commend you to them when next you visit Christchurch or Lyttleton areas.”

“I've just finished working in Rangiora for 3 months. I stayed at The Riverstone Motel for the whole time and loved it. Quiet, convenient, and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for super friendly hosts Charlotte and Mike. Every evening I'd come back to the curtains drawn and the heat pump on. It's the little things that count.I recommend it 100% and would go back in a heartbeat.”

“Worked a Corporate Challenge in Christchurch this week. Commodore Hotel was exceptionally localed for both the event and airport. It has the most luxurious bed. It was like sleeping on clouds. The kitchen was open for a late night dinner, which was very much appreciated with finishing so late. The breakfast this morning was delicious. Offering both a Continental Breakfast and brilliant A La Carte. I opted for the Continental which was perfectly satisfying.”
