The staff were welcoming and accommodating and the room was very comfortable, with all the amenities for a long-term stay including a washing machine, dryer, oven, and mini dishwasher. “This is a great hostel even for longer time stays! I stayed here for more than 2 months myself and don’t have anything to complain about. The staff is really nice. James the receptionist helped me a lot with my visa application and finding a good fitness studio in Auckland downtown. Very friendly, young and happy hostel guests stay here and still it’s quite in the nights even in 8 bed dorms. Would stay here again any time :)”

“I stayed at Park Ave Residence as a long term tenant and I must say my stay there was wonderful. The staff were friendly, warm and was always available. The facilities was well looked after by the cleaning staff who did a wonderful job. Some tenants needed to learn how to clean up after themselves but apart from that I would recommend Park Ave Residence anytime. It was handy to town and public transport and the view from the room I was in was awesome. I was is Rm 312. If ever I travel back to Auckland and need a place to stay I will be calling Park Ave Residence.”

“My first welcome to New Zealand. Run by a very friendly and helpful family. I stayed in a nice and clean recently refurbished room with top notch facilities including tea/coffee making facilities, a microwave, fridge, fast WiFi and a good TV with Sky. Very comfortable bed and an impressive shower. The hotel itself is in a perfect location on a good accessible main road and it has plenty of parking. Lots of places to eat nearby and a five minute walk from the train in to the city which itself only takes 15 minutes. Very happy with my stay.”

“Do not stop here if you want fancy, price reflects this. Do stop here if you want a fantastic historic building, quirky and full of character! Plenty of parking out front or beside the hotel. Free WiFi which works! Clean rooms, heaters, ample space in the rooms. Personally I loved the old tiled bathroom, reminds me of schools in the 80/90s or from the shining..... you decide. Looks like it's recently been carpeted throughout. Currently lots of renovation ongoing, hopefully restoring it's beauty. Shops all around for evening meals, breakfasts, even a laundrette next door. Kettle and fridge in the room, even with hot choc sachets! There is a shared kitchen on the landing if you chose to cook. We had the studio/family room. Double bed and two singles, seating area and TV. For a budget stop, highly recommended!”

This place helps out people in need and it's definitely not a boring time here lol people tend to keep to themselves but also there's a community here too. The owner Brad is very welcoming and this place helps people stay off the streets so definitely recommend for short or long term stays.”

“We stayed in this hotel and it was good. The bed was cozy and warm and you can feel the old Japanese house, I think. But, I knew the gardens are beautiful and hot showers are there. And there is wifi and I think the people who did a 1 star review is wrong and it was beautiful. I recommend this hotel!”

One has the ocean view. Superb location, close to all the nice eating places. And staffs have been very supportive, they even upgraded our room for free!”

“We booked a two bedroom suite for 4 adults and we were each very happy with our overall stay and the affordability. Despite some issues I had with booking.com itself the staff here were wonderful! I would have given 5 stars for service however we had trouble calling through a few times for the concierge, thankfully once we arrived the receptionist was very accomodating and efficient. Comfortable beds, amazing view off the balcony, clean room and half of us went and enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Thank you all - we will be staying again in future ☺️”

It had everything we needed and was a perfect place to relax after a long day. Great location, great vibes, and overall just a really enjoyable stay.
