I decided to have a staycation in town as part of our work function. The Chancellor on Hobson was the perfect location. The welcome at reception was very professional and hospitable, the two guys on the counter Raghu and Pritt (excuse the spelling if wrong) were incredible. Everything was explained and the bonus for us was an upgrade. Excellent view of the harbour, onsite parking, comfortable room and bed. Highly recommend this place for a city stay.

I had a very pleasant stay at The Chancellor on Hobson. The staff were incredibly hospitable and welcoming throughout my visit. I appreciated the thoughtful complimentary wine and chocolates, which made the stay feel extra special. The location is excellent just a short walk to Britomart, making it very convenient for dining, shopping, and transport. Overall, a wonderful experience and I would happily stay here again.

Perfect location, been close to the viaduct and shopping stores. Well priced, very affordable. Swimming pool is long for laps, gym, sauna and spa. Excellent service! Especially Raghu, he was very helpful with everything and offered exceptional service for us. We will be back!

Spent a week here and it was such a great experience! The staff are so kind and the quality of the service and the rooms was far beyond what we had expected for the price. New favourite place to stay in the city, this place really sets the standard.

The bathrooms are just below an acceptable standard for a modern hotel (ingrained mould, broken tiles), so I cannot recommend this. See attached images. The hotel is in a good location, with friendly staff, but it has no place to eat either. Nearby cafes are good, and there is an extremely good value Chinese restaurant next door. If you can live with the bathroom mould, and don't want to eat at the hotel, then the rooms are quite spacious, with kitchenettes and good air conditioning. However, the bathrooms were so grimy that I would never go back until they are refurbished though.

WARNING: - Hotel is ALSO an apartment complex so you will most likely get stuck on the first floor. - Overhead bed lights will NOT turn off unless you remove the room key from the slot which also turns OFF the A/C. - Location: Loud street noise but easy walking distance to attractions. - Room: mold in bathroom and chipped paint. "KING" Bed is 2 singles pushed together. - Laundry still does not work. (check older reviews) - Housekeeping entered our room when we left the do not enter sign on the door. - LOCAL CALLS ARE $2! Pros: - Front desk was very kind and helpful - HUGE lap pool. - Great location to walk to resturants and the pier.

Do not stay here if you are a light sleeper. I emailed ahead to get a high floor due to previous reviews. But we still got floor 1. There is a constant bass coming from a nearby nightclub until 3 am every morning. The road noise is loud until about 9pm. The laundry facilities were out of order and had been for 2 months according to team members. The beds were comfy though when I finally got to sleep. We won't be staying here again. The bathrooms are very old too. There is black mouldy looking stains on white tiles and the shower curtain sticks to you whilst showering.

Ee stayed twice, once on arrival and once on departing Auckland. The rooms were tired, in need a revamp (especially the bathrooms). Bathrooms was tiny! Both stays we were sitting on the toilet roll holder when using the toilet. The shower/bath was tiny and not accessible for those with mobility issues. The rooms were tidy, but housekeeping wasn't consistent between the rooms. Air conditioning did not work in either room. We complained about it on our second stay, and reception had no idea how to fix it. Parking in the hotel was ridiculously overpriced, and so was they continental breakfast, which was also very limited, and food was either stale or warm. Holding $150 on our card for security was the largest price I've ever heard of and took a very long time to be reimbursed. Finally, the reception staff were ridiculous rude. Always too busy to help us and on one occasion questioned my husband's entrance when we'd been staying a few days. Will not stay again and will not recommend!

staff were very kind and hardworking they made an effort to have a conversation with us and would accommodate our needs as soon as we needed them. we had some trouble getting some ice out of the tray and the man at reception was right up to our room to help us with it. was kindof annoying to go anywhere as you needed permission to. parking was $30 and was 4 levels underground in a tight car parking building. to get down there from your room you needed to go to reception to ask them to open it for you which became annoying along with just coming back from shopping or something to park in the building you needed to go into reception for them to open the gate to let you in. same with the pool if you wanted to go in you needed to go to reception to ask them to open it for you. this became quite frustrating but the staff were very understanding about it. the room was an average room nothing wrong with it. it was exactly what you pay for and was a good price. the view wasn’t the nicest but we had to pay extra if you wanted a nicer view so i guess that’s understandable. mini bar was overpriced but that’s expected at most hotels. overall a nice place to stay.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Grand Chancellor Auckland, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The hotel is located in Auckland CBD, and I stayed there for 3 nights. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the welcoming atmosphere and attention to detail. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and made sure that every aspect of my stay was taken care of. They were always available to answer any questions or provide recommendations for local activities and restaurants. The room itself was spacious and beautifully decorated, with all the amenities I could ask for. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and there was plenty of natural light throughout the space. I would highly recommend Hotel Grand Chancellor Auckland to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay in Auckland CBD. The attention to detail, friendly staff, and exceptional amenities truly set this hotel apart. I can't wait to come back and stay again!
