   Cheap place to stay and it feels like that. No air conditioning in the rooms and I had a room that shares bathrooms and toilets which is fine as it was the cheaper option. The bathrooms were fine but the toilets didn't look or smell that nice and they had nothing to dry your hands with so everytime you had go use the toilet I had to take a towel with me so not very convenient. The area isn't the nicest ether. Very rough and run down looking

   This is NOT a tourist hostel. It is a permanent hostel for men with vacancies let to tourists. The atmosphere is unpleasant verging on scary. The area is dodgy - the receptionist advised that it is not safe after dark. I have given 1 star as room was clean and bed linen fresh but if you are on holiday wanting to hang out with other travellers this is NOT for you. Kitchen has no pots or pans, so no use for self caterers. I wish I'd seen this review before booking!!

   We had a excellent stay here. Was a very basic room but nice and clean. The staff were nice a helpful, even looking after our bags for the day of arrival till check-in as we had a very early flight into Auckland. Nice and close to public transport, The area around it is a bit run down but we never had any issues travelling to the city or out to Pukekohe

   I stayed at Park Ave Residence as a long term tenant and I must say my stay there was wonderful. The staff were friendly, warm and was always available. The facilities was well looked after by the cleaning staff who did a wonderful job. Some tenants needed to learn how to clean up after themselves but apart from that I would recommend Park Ave Residence anytime. It was handy to town and public transport and the view from the room I was in was awesome. I was is Rm 312. If ever I travel back to Auckland and need a place to stay I will be calling Park Ave Residence.

   Stayed here 3 nights and we enjoyed our stay. We had a room with our own bathroom. The room interior is kept simple but functional, it is quite modern and clean. The WiFi is good. We checked in very late due to a late flight after 2am which was no problem because they used key safes and instructions by email.

   Disappointed that our room wasn't cleaned once during our 3 night stay, we also had to keep taking our dirty/wet towels to reception ourselves and get clean ones each time. The bathrooms were obviously not cleaned regularly as a few of the toilets didn't have toilet paper for a couple of days. The young lady a reception was great, really really polite and helpful it's a shame about the manager (I assume?) who was quite rude. The 'hotel' is in a rough part of town, with no secure parking. $200 for 3 nights is cheap for accommodation in Auckland but we expected more, unfortunately we will not be returning!
