Our family had a wonderful stay at Parnell Pines. Great location, and the owner was so lovely and accomodating. Highly recommend

I needed to be in Parnell. The rooms were a bit dated, and too warm (in summer). But for the bidget pricing the location is great, and the staff person was very helpful. If you book early you may get free parking included. Location really the best in very upmarket street with a very wide variety of restaurants across the street, or one at the hotel.

I stayed here for a couple of nights. The second day, the cleaner didnβt come and I needed a new towel and toilet papers but there was nobody at the reception. I tried to call the number on the desk. He never answered. We ended up buying own toilet papers. There is no AC and our room got the sun all the time. I thought I was gonna get heat strokeβ¦

We were initially worried with the low ratings we saw, but we still booked it anyway because it is at the location we need. Turn out the rooms were beautiful, large clean and convenient. One has the ocean view. Superb location, close to all the nice eating places. And staffs have been very supportive, they even upgraded our room for free!

Itβs a very loud hotel. I wouldnβt recommend staying here if you plan to sleep at all. To be honest, it didnβt even feel safe all the time, as the walls are so thin so at random times in the night, you may hear heavy footsteps and deep male voices outside your room. Itβs not something you want to hear when youβre a woman alone in an already unpleasant hotel.

Knowing the area, I booked via Qantas and expected Qantas standards. However I was greeted by Jetstar standards as it was a boarding house with day room bookings for 'urgent needs'. Cleanliness is a minimum requirement and unfortunately dust was clearly evident on the skirting boards, beside the desk and on the drawer handle. Thus, triggering hayfever but fortunately I carry hayfever tablets which alleviated the symptoms. I stayed 2 nights and was pleasantly surprised that my room was tidied, hence the 3 stars for service. No air conditioner but fortunately conditions were pleasant. However it will be exceedingly hot because Auckland is humid. The heater was in the closet but the only power points available for it, were above the desk. The small private and clean ensuite has a tiny shelf for small items only. Powerpoint available for international shavers only. The queen bed was comfortable but the pillows were thin. There was plenty of lighting and power points beside the bed. Great location but below par accommodation.

From arrival to departure the whole experience was 10/10. The host goes out of her way to make it a pleasant stay, I was unfamiliar to Auckland and was relying on public transport - they offered to driveme to Britomart then gave me advice on how to get around. So communicative and helpful. Also was given a free upgrade to a harbour view. Room is quiet and has all that you need. I will always book here when I am in Auckland - 100 % satisfied with the room and especially the service

I wont say don't stay there but PLEASE view your room before handing over any payment. My experience was so bad we did not stay - it was preferable to loose $265 for a night in something advertised as two bedroom unit... which was actually a unit with two rooms in which they had simply removed the lounge furniture from one of them and put in a bed. Even if it was a real two bedroom unit we wouldn't have stayed - the place should be condemned. We ended up paying similar money for a brand new spacious apartment in Newmarket with two perfect marble bathrooms etc. - no comparison.
