Super helpful manager. A bit far from the CBD but there is buses so was no problem. Clean facilities! Good one.

clean. Yes, this place has had new tile floors, it tidies the place up a bit. A little ruff with the renovations, but it does the job. It really depends on your mindset. Generally speaking it is a the bottom end in terms of the quality of the facility but is offset by the great location. New Brighton beach is beautiful. Some other travellers were a bit noisy, and woke me, but other then that.... Its good enough. I did feel a little anxiety about the place. It just gave me those vibes. I guess, it takes time to reestablish business after a bad historical rap This backpackers is one of two run by the same people. 85on bealey being the other backpacker.

Nothing was right in my experience here. From the 1st contact with the manager, rude and everything but friendly and professional, to the place in itself. Everything is ruined, dirty. I had cigarettes burn hole in my bedsheet, the walls of my room were so dirty you can't believe they dare to offer that to their customers. In the kitchen you are asked to wash your ustensils, normal, but they don't put even a sponge at your disposal. Also by 7:30Am a fire alarm rang. "false alert" said the manager without even trying to formulate any excuse for the disturbance... I was supposed to stay 2 nights but run away after the first one. Only thing positive, they didn't challenge to reimburse me the 2nd night. Despite being close to a nice beach, all that place is runned down and is a complete lack of respect by the management to their customers. I never wrote such bad review but this place just schoked me! Of course I recommend you to book anywhere but here.

Stopped for a lovely coffee and sandwhich. Sandwhich was fresh and tasty and coffee very well made

Rang to book the 2 bed dorm. Person who answered the phone could barely understand what I was talking about and said they don’t do 2 bed dorms. According to him they are not open to the public because they only have long term residents. So when I asked him why they were still advertising he hung up on me.

This was the biggest disappointed of our whole road trip. The place looked nothing how it was advertised. It is completely run down. On arrival my partner and I were able to look past the filth and try and stay for the night. But then we could tell there were a few dodgy things happening, including what looked like a drug deal by the entrance. The final straw was when we got back to our room outside our door this man was shouting at this woman very aggressively. I went down to the front staff explained the situation and said I felt uncomfortable to stay here and asked for a refund. They said they would refund minus -15% but they couldn't do it at the moment because of the online booking. After phone tag for a few days and talking in circles. We have still not been refunded. Overall just a horrible experience.
