“I haven't been there in so long, since 1990ish but my childhood memories of your park were so awesome, we were safe to run round free and unsupervised in our ever expanding packs, (tho it was harder to injure 80's children) so many families in the summer and everyone, staff and patrons were all lovely and courteous. There was tree swings, n family movies at night played on giant projector screens that all the kids watched from duvet+ pillow forts on a grass bank before bed. The prickles were my least favorite thing, but we stayed in our giant tyre tube's in the creek most of the day. I love so much the refusal to engage nasty insult comments. Those 30 yr old memories are still probably my best n happiest of camping as a kid. I hope the legacy review isn't out of place.”
“I felt a lot of racial bias during my check-in experience. We arrived early around 1pm (check-in was at 3pm), and I completely understand that early check-ins aren’t always possible. As a Platinum member, I had hoped for some flexibility but was told the rooms weren’t ready — fair enough. We went for lunch and returned around 2pm, and the rooms still weren’t ready. However, in the 30 minutes we waited in the lobby, I saw 5–8 other guests being checked in with no issue. When I asked the same front desk lady again if our rooms were ready, she simply said, “No, they’re not ready.” When I politely insisted that she check with the housekeeping team to see if at least one of our rooms was ready so we could freshen up, relax, and plan our afternoon, she finally checked and said, “Oh, one room is ready.” That experience was quite frustrating, especially because moments earlier she had made no effort to verify. What made it more upsetting was seeing a white couple walk in and book a room on the spot — the exact same category as one of mine (around NZD $370 per night) — and they were checked in immediately. I was told other guests had “different room categories,” but clearly that wasn’t the case. If that’s not discriminatory treatment, I don’t know what is. I paid for two rooms, valet parking, dinner, and plenty of drinks — the same or more than many other guests — yet was made to feel less valued. That said, I do want to acknowledge that the rest of the staff were absolutely wonderful. The valet parking lady was so friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant and bar teams were exceptional — genuinely warm, attentive, and kind. It’s just unfortunate that the check-in experience left such a negative impression, overshadowing what could have been an otherwise beautiful stay.”
“Love this hotel. Located in the center of the city. Lovely clean room and a great breakfast. The staff are so helpful and always have a great smile. The valet car parking is great and you only have to wait for 5 minutes before it arrives at the front of the hotel. We will definitely be coming back next time we are in Auckland. Highly recommended to all.”
“15/09/25. Booked a four day stay and wasn’t happy with my initial room so I approached the team who gave me a much better room on a higher floor with a great view of the sky tower. Hotel is in a great CBD location, easy walking to the hospital where I was visiting relatives. Car parking though limited is easily accessible provided you don’t have a car that’s larger than a sedan. On site restaurant was okay. First time I’ve had room service served by a bot, so I couldn’t figure out how to open it to get my food. When I did manage to get it opened, the plates were placed on top of each other rather than on a tray - little bit disappointed. On top of that the advertised meal on the room service app via the TV was not what I was given. So I had to ring the restaurant again to get the remainder of my meal brought up. Breakfast was buffet style - okay choices and did not change on a day-to-day basis. The lady there every morning, who did the coffees was absolutely awesome - big thumbs up to her!! Room was lovely. Aircon was nice and strong and I thought the room size was okay given I am a large woman (size 18) and I managed to move around the room fairly easily. Bed was really comfortable. Would I recommend - overall yes I would!”
“It was such an awesome place to stay with plenty of room! Facilities are great, and so is the central location. Sky tower about 20 mtrs from here. Check in and check out were hassel free! Would definitely stay here again.”
“My preferred stay whenever I’m visiting Auckland. The rooms are always tidy, smells good, the beds and pillows are so comfy! In my experience, the staff are lovely, prompt and helpful. Great, convenient location to shops and the viaduct but still nice and quiet, love staying here and will always recommend this to family as they have also had positive experiences at the Travel Lodge. I believe the Travel Lodge upholds an excellent standard in terms of hospitality, service and quality. Compared to some of the other places we have visited and stayed at whilst in New Zealand, the travel lodge remains a favourite! Thank you again for a wonderful stay. My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our time.”
“I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Auckland. The hotel is in a pretty centralized area and very easy to walk around to restaurants. I stayed in a corner suite, which is more than enough for 1 person. The rooms look like they were recently renovated and was spacious and clean. Good selection of food during breakfast. My flight arrived very early 8am and my room wasn't ready but the hotel was very accommodating and gave me another room to rest up till my room was ready.”
“This hotel met every need perfectly! The room was nice, with a bathroom that was very space efficient. The breakfast buffet had many options, including a variety of dairy and non-dairy, milks, pastries, warm, basic continental food, and cereal! The rooms were quiet, and the location was superb. It was close to everything we wanted to do, including the waterfront, nightlife, local theater, and transportation! Ding dong is right across the street! And lots of grocery stores near by!”
“I don't have any bad thing to say about this hotel. Everything was perfect. 24-hour reception, close to the airport, free shuttle bus to the airport. The room was clean and well equipped - hairdryer, soaps and shampoos smelled great, big TV, balcony. I would also like to thank the lady at the reception. I overslept on the day of departure. My boyfriend called at the reception, she woke me up personally and the most amazing thing was that when I checked out the bus arrived at the airport and she ran after me with a bus ticket. I really felt that the staff cared about the guests. I can only recommend it.”
“Good location. From the airport, it is a 10 mins drive by car, or one can take either the Yellow Bus (Airport Hotels bus) or the Auckland local transport bus #38 to reach the hotel. Smooth check-in, good breakfast & cooperative staff as well.”
“My recent stay at the Sudima Auckland Airport was genuinely outstanding, turning what is often a routine airport stopover into a truly memorable experience. From the moment I checked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, and the hotel itself feels modern, welcoming, and perfectly designed for comfort. The room was spacious, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and it was the ideal calm environment for relaxing before or after a long flight. However, the real highlight of my visit—and the source of the most fun—was the fantastic robot delivery service! Ordering food right to my room and waiting to hear that distinctive little chime was a blast. When the door opened and the robot, completely autonomously, was waiting there with my meal, I couldn't stop smiling. It’s such a clever and novel way to receive room service, and it adds a playful, futuristic energy to the entire hotel experience. It was speedy, contact-free, and honestly just delightful to watch. If you’re looking for a top-tier airport hotel with excellent amenities, comfortable rooms, great food, and a unique, fun feature that will absolutely make your day, I can't recommend the Sudima Auckland Airport enough. I’ll definitely be staying here again!”
“Came up for a work conference which was also held at the hotel. Great room, felt spacious due to the layout! Very clean and tidy, and conveniently located near the shopping mall. I was also genuinely surprised at how quiet it was considering the nearby road/motorway - barely a whisper of any vehicles out there. Big shoutout to Will on the front desk (I hope I caught the right name). He was super welcoming, made check in quick and easy and had a great sense of humour! A well timed addition to my own joke got heaps of laughs from myself and my peers and really made me feel like this was a home away from home, even just for one night :)”
“My recent stay at this hotel was truly enjoyable. The one-bedroom suite was spacious, clean, and provided a comfortable retreat. The hotel staff were welcoming and attentive, ensuring a pleasant stay. The breakfast offered was satisfying, and the location, near Cromwell Park, was ideal for exploration. There is a woolworth store nearby. The added convenience of car parking was definitely a plus point. Overall, I had a delightful stay and would highly recommend this hotel to others seeking a pleasant and convenient accommodation option.”
“Value for money, big room separated with kitchen area and bathroom. Comfy bed, lot of tea and coffee, fresh milk in the fridge and lot of parking available. I truly enjoy my 2 nights stay with Parnell.”
“We had two lots of family visiting from overseas for our wedding stay here in the last couple of weeks. On both occassions they had an excellent stay! The views from the first floor are lovely and the motel is right on the beach. Easy walking access to convenience stores, the marina and ferry. Would defintely recommend”
“Really lovely club. Sheltered outdoor seating, beautiful native park like gardens.”
“I would highly recommend this hotel. Great location. Across from the harbour with lovely views. 15 minutes walk to the heart of the city. Delicious breakfast. I would like to thank Anna and Max again who work at the front desk, who both were very kind, helpful and caring with my dilemma due to an error from our Travel Agent. They were extremely helpful.”
“Highly recommend this place. We were needing accomodation close to the hospital and this was perfect. Spacious room, comfortable bed and close to takeaways. Everything was clean and staff were friendly.”
“I have stayed here over one month. Great place to stay no matter you choose bunk bed or twin room. Stuff is always helpful and kind to guests. Kitchen and bathroom are always clean and tidy. People who choose to live here are also polite and nice. Most of guests respect the quiet time. Definitely will come back if I need. If there are more female room would be better for me.”
“As well as having quiet, well featured & very pleasant rooms Quest Petone is centrally located just off Petone's main st giving easy access to all the local eateries in the evening. Plus it's only a few minutes drive to Lower Hutt & a few more minutes to East Coast Bays.”
“Very clean and tidy. Could do with minor repair in bathroom but overall great. Good location to woolfbrook arena and Addington raceway.”
“The Famous Grouse Hotel NZ offers comfortable rooms, friendly staff, lively bar, convenient location, and good value, though breakfast options are limited.”
“Wonderful staff in the office! A small and peaceful campsite, near the beach. Probably the best water pressure I've ever seen for a campsite shower too”
“Peppers Clearwater really blew us away. We booked a Lakeview Suite through an Accor Plus More Escapes deal that came with breakfast, a three-course dinner, and a cheese platter with a bottle of wine – such great value. The suite itself was gorgeous, the perfect spot to unwind and recharge. Sitting out on the deck watching the ducks and swans glide by, with the sun setting over the lake, was just magic. The staff made the stay even better – both the bar and restaurant teams went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. Dinner was a real highlight: duck salad and grilled scallops to start, then fish and lamb for mains, and tiramisu plus panna cotta for dessert. Every dish was spot on. Breakfast the next morning was à la carte with excellent barista-made soy lattes, and I have to say, the eggs benedict was the best I’ve ever had. We were lucky with the spring weather too, and enjoyed our cheese platter and wine out on the deck in the sunshine – pure bliss. The little touches also made a difference, like being able to do a load of washing and plug in our rented Tesla overnight in the garage. We honestly couldn’t recommend Clearwater more. Huge thanks to all the staff for making us feel so welcome and completely spoiled.”
“We had a very pleasant stay at Sudima Christchurch Airport Hotel and stayed in the Premium King Room. We were checked in by the friendly Wade, and we would like to thank him for his professionalism and warm hospitality. His calm composure while managing multiple big group of check ins at once was truly impressive and worth mentioning. Our hotel room was clean and comfortable, and we really appreciated the pillow menu, which gave us a great night sleep. The location is also extremely convenient, it was just minutes from Christchurch Airport and within walking distance to Woolworths and several nearby food places. The free parking for hotel guests was another big plus. We also had dinner at Acheron at level 1, and were served by the welcoming Alan. We overheard he’s still a student, but we were genuinely impressed by his friendliness and service. Overall, a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. Would happily return!”
“We had the best time staying here! The housekeeping manager was absolutely amazing — incredibly supportive of our team, kind, and went out of his way to ensure we had the best possible stay at Carnmore Hagley Park. Thank you so much”
“We stayed here in August '25. Really nice hotel. I stayed in room 402, the view wasn't great, but the room was A+. This room has a full kitchen, washer/dryer, king sized bed, large living area with huge TV. The hotel is located across the street from the Town Hall (where my wife's conference was). Everything Christchurch proper has to offer is easily walkable from this location.”
“Friendly staff and very spacious, clean rooms. Highly recommended due to its central location—close to town and the casino. We love the the area and were very pleased with our stay.”
“My stay here was quite pleasant. I arrived past check-in hours. So, they emailed me the code to the lockbox outside the lobby to retrieve my key. My room was on the second floor. There were two convenient sets of stairs. The room was clean, quiet and well-equipped. I had a rental car and there was ample free parking. There were some reasonably-priced snacks and sodas in the room available to purchase. I spent $10 over the course of a few days and it was worth it. I will definitely stay here again. Front desk staff was very helpful.”
“Went for dinner, delicious food (I had the chicken and bacon stack, it was excellent, and the roast and burgers are always great). The crew really looked after us, thank you!”
