Very comfortable beds, an excellent shower, fridge and freezer. Very close to Sky City and a pleasant walk to The Viaduct, Wynyard Quarter, Downtown and Britomart. Parking is $45 per night.
We reserved a Deluxe Studio, 1 King Bed, Non Smoking room. It was a decent size and had a washer and dryer as well as a kitchenette with most supplies, you did need to ask and possibly pay for dish and laundry soap. The dryer was VERY noisy but it did work. Water also escapes the crack in the shower door, so we had to be careful where to aim the shower head. The lobby staff were kind enough but we had very little interaction. The bed was comfortable. The location was fantastic but be prepared for the uphill climb from the train station to the hotel. Overall the stay was very nice.
Overall, I was disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The check-in process was frustrating and required me to yell my credit card into an intercom with people around. Still, I was not checked-in correctly and had to visit the front desk multiple times. The hotel and rooms had an odor. It was quite noticeable when entering the hallways. My room was inconsistently serviced throughout my stay, only being serviced twice in my 5 night stay. The hotel is a short walk from the centre of Auckland and not too far from Viaduct, which was nice. I had to request my folio/invoice multiple times which was s frustrating final issue with my stay. Overall, I would not say this was value-for-money and would not recommend this hotel to friends and colleagues.
Don't stay here if it's for work. This is not a business-friendly hotel. Reception closes early, rooms are shoe box size, certainly not "suites", after hours if things go wrong or you need stuff sorted you wait a long time for action. I checked in after 10pm and was asked to provide credit card details over the intercom at the door in the wind and rain with others waiting around me before the hotel would give me the lock box code to get the entry key. Came back second night and room key would not work so could not get into the building or my room. 40min wait till the night manager arrived to take me to my room (not fix the key) - packed my bag and went to a proper hotel.
My review is based off the interaction I had with the reception today. As someone who is experienced with customer service and reception. You are the face of the company, and the motto of Ramada I believe is “A very good place to be”. But today it was not a good place to be. I am a full time carer for my daughter with a medical condition meaning I don’t get out much and this has impacted my anxiety. When I go out I walk with my daughter who has a tube in her nose and I’m always nervous about having people so when I do talk or ask for help it takes me a while to gain the courage to do so. Today I walked with my daughter in her pram and was looking for My Gold. And I was relived to see Ramada was open so maybe I could ask the reception for some advice or help. I asked kindly “hi sorry are you able to tell me how I can get to MyGold please” He responded with “you call them, we shouldn’t be directing you” with a look on his face. I didn’t feel welcome and was embarrassed in front of other people behind us. I turned around and went home. I understand it’s not your job to help with directions but you did more than just send us away. My confidence was shattered that day and i had a panic attack on my way home. Is it so hard to be kind and to just let me know that calling them might help instead of making me feel like a burden. This is now another reason why I may not ever go out often. This had ruined my day
Conveniently located suite hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Stayed here two times both times my room was upgraded. Really appreciated having laundry. The views of the skytower are fantastic. Very easy check in and out. Keep in mind there is no place to pull up with luggage.
Awesome front Desk team so helpful, room was clean and well appointed, perfect for our weekend get away, central to bars and fabulous restaurants and a walk away from Sky Tower. Would definately stay again.
It was such an awesome place to stay with plenty of room! Facilities are great, and so is the central location. Sky tower about 20 mtrs from here. Check in and check out were hassel free! Would definitely stay here again.
Very helpful staff. We showed up early and we're able to check into our room. We also had to change on the day we checked out and they provided a bathroom for us to do so. The rooms were nice and clean and the bathroom shower was very refreshing with a nice powerful showerhead. The location is also perfect, right in the middle of a lot of the things you would want to walk to and cheap street parking nearby NZ$18 from Saturday noon till Monday morning).
Very pleased with this hotel. Spent two nights in March /23. Room was clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable - slept well! The kitchen has all supplies one could need and in the in room laundry and drying machines worked well. Location is great as well. A short walk to a nice park and grocery store, and the hotel is close to the train station / ferry terminal. No issues came to mind during our stay. Would stay again.
