   We arrived into Christchurch late at night after a very long journey, only to find our original motel was completely closed—even though they were aware we were arriving late. Stranded, tired, and soaked from the rain, we were incredibly lucky to find the Addington Motel. Despite the late hour (just after midnight), they couldn’t have been more accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble—within minutes of arriving, they had us checked in and settled into a beautiful two-bedroom suite. The room was clean, spacious, and really comfortable—exactly what we needed after such a stressful evening. To top it off, they even arranged a lift for us the next morning to the train station, which was a huge help and just another example of how kind and thoughtful the team were. We were so grateful for their hospitality and care. It turned what could have been a nightmare experience into something really positive. Would absolutely recommend staying here—lovely people, great rooms, and genuinely above-and-beyond service.

   I stayed in room 2, quite a few problems and a disappointing stay. There were broken tiles in the bathroom, the soap dispenser didn't work. The room was poorly designed with the window position being in the spray area of the shower. There was no bath plug so i had to use the sink plug and this got stuck - I had to use a knife to unblock it to drain my bath. The price for an old room of this quality was way too high. Next time I will use airbnb

   As I couldn't find a hotel close enough to the venue (Rugby Stadium) that was within my companies budget I chose this budget option mainly because it was 5 mins walk to the stadium. While the accommodation is not fancy it is very reasonably priced and they have a TV , there is a heater so your room is comfortable, the bed was comfier than expected and there was a bath so after a hard day I could at least have a soak for 15 minutes. What made this special was how lovely the people operating the place are, my few small requests over the 4 night stay were accommodated with a big smile and a "no problem". They were genuinely lovely and happy to poont out good places to eat, closest groceries and bottle shop and some other local tips. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks for everything.

   It appears that this motel now has new owners who are not providing the level of service that was preciously enjoyed with the old owners. In particular, the rooms are now looking very tired and clearly only have a minimal amount of cleaning. Room servicing, while it is meant to be done daily, seems to be very variable and can not be relied on. Possibly the worst aspect of this accommodation is the aragant and nasty attitude of the new owners, certainly do not try and complain!

   Tired but clean. Crying out for refurbishment, with paint cracked in window frames, and curtaining/blinds well past use by date. Not a 4 star hotel. A 3 star motel. Noisy by main road. Neighbours running loud mini-quad bikes till 845PM!

   We chose this motel for its closeness to the Stadium. The new owners/managers ?? are absolutely delightful. We were dropped off at the stadium which was very much appreciated. The motel was wonderfully clean and provided everything you’d need. There were a few niggly things. The door is really hard to open, one of the cupboard does is falling off, there was a scorch mark on the table top and iron mark on the carpet and the tiling around the bath needs to be re-grouted but overall was good value for money. I’m sure these little things will all be sorted by the new owners who are only 2 weeks into running the motel
