We had a great stay at the JW Marriott Auckland would give 4.5 stars with a tendency toward 5, mainly because of the excellent service. One minor thing is the long waiting time to be seated for breakfast as only one employee was responsible for this. The Executive Lounge opened on the day of our arrival, and Benjamin and his team exceeded all expectations. Their friendliness and outstanding attention to detail made a big difference and truly enhanced our time at the hotel. Beautiful property, very comfortable rooms (newly renovated without carpeted flooring), and exceptional hospitality. Highly recommended!

We booked months in advance for a family room with two queen beds as we needed space for myself, my husband and our adult daughter and teenage daughter as we where coming to Auckland for a concert. When we arrived we were told that they had overbooked the hotel and we where moved to a room with one queen bed and a roll away single bed. When I asked how all four of us were going to fit in that room they said the 3 of us could sleep in the queen bed. There was no offer of compensation, so we declined and told them we wanted the room we booked. They eventually agreed. Check in was at 3pm and they then told us our room would not be ready until 4pm. We had to be at the concert by 4:30pm. Again we complained and eventually got into our room at 3:30pm. We where also charged for items from the mini bar which we did not consume. This is a pricey 5 star hotel. They need to do better. Would not stay here again. There are loads of better hotels in Auckland at a cheaper price point.

I am a marriott loyalist, and have stayed at Ritz carlton and JWs across the world. The level of service at this JW was beyond execeptional - from the Valet, to the Concierge, and with Chrsitina at the front desk. The hospitality and genuine care was the best I have received at any Marriott property thus far. The rooms are newly renovated and well done in a sleek, modern take on midcentury modern. The pool, hot tub and sauna were nice. The gym was well equipped. 100% would recommend, and would stay here again.

I only stayed here for one short night after arriving late in Auckland. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful with my needs. The hotel is a bit dated, but it is well maintained. The room was clean and spacious. And after a long journey, I slept well in the comfortable bed. Unfortunately, I can't say anything about breakfast, pool or any other hotel amenities, as I didn't use any of them. The hotel itself is located in the city center near the harbour, so that everything is reachable within walking distance.

I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Auckland. The hotel is in a pretty centralized area and very easy to walk around to restaurants. I stayed in a corner suite, which is more than enough for 1 person. The rooms look like they were recently renovated and was spacious and clean. Good selection of food during breakfast. My flight arrived very early 8am and my room wasn't ready but the hotel was very accommodating and gave me another room to rest up till my room was ready.

This was such a great place to stay. It is very centrally located in Sky City. Close to shops and attractions. The service was top notch, especially with Liza who is a concierge. She was on top of all our needs with bags, car and wonderful recommendations for restaurants. Would definitely stay there again.

People are rating this harshly for no good reason. Maybe it should be a Marriott instead of. JW? But it's way better than the Sydney Marriott. Great bed, great linens/towels, fantastic front of house staff. This place is better than the reviews give it

Absolutely exceptional stay! My husband and I came here to celebrate a special occasion and the hotel did everything in their power to make it that much more special. The service was amazing, everyone went above and beyond from the moment we walked through the doors. The rooms were beautiful, bed super super comfy (Iām pregnant so takes a lot to make comfy) and the breakfast was delicious. We will be back many times in the future. Thank you to the JW staff for making our night away so special xo Mr and Mrs Valley

We had a lovely weekend stay at JW Marriott, right in the heart of Auckland. Our room wad spacious and well appointed (we got upgraded too). The pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym added a nice touch. The service was warm and efficient. One of the aspects we particularly enjoyed was the relaxed and peaceful atmosphere.
