“Our Jack Russell Toby loves this place. We have been using them for 5 years now. The staff here is just amazing. Communication is always very clear. They answer my calls and emails in couple of hours no matter week day or weekend. Very happy with Bark Avenue, thank guys for everything. ❤️”
“I highly recommend Roomie! We stayed in February 2025. We are from Ireland, and we used Roomie as a base when travelling around NZ . We had all the security of a hotel and all the freedom of an apartment. The beds were comfortable and the apartments were very comfortable and clean. The water pressure in the shower was great . We had lovely showers there. The staff were wonderful, every time you went to the desk you knew you would get help with a smile. I can't complement them enough. The communication via email before our stay was prompt and helpful. We had connections to Avondale so it was an ideal location for us but if you don't have any connections to Avondale, it is still a great location as the train is across the road from the apartment hotel. You can get the train to New Lynn and there is a mall there with a big supermarket or to Mt Albert to Pak N' Save a cheaper supermarket. It also goes to Britomart, where you can get to the viaduct in central Auckland. There is also a shop around the corner if you need some essentials. Try to book direct as you get some extra perks like free laundry and early check-in than if you use a 3rd party website.”
“I really enjoyed my one-night stay at this hotel excellent value for money. Upon arrival, the staff were friendly and even checked us in earlier than the usual 2pm time. The room was large, very clean, and the TV offered plenty of options. My only small feedback would be that the pillows were a bit firm for my liking. I slept well regardless, the shower was refreshing in the morning, and the breakfast was simple yet satisfying. Overall, a great stay I would definitely return next time I’m in Auckland. Thank you!”
“Our dog Cooper is well looked after at WAGS. He is always eager to go in for his Doggy DayCare. Plus when he has had to stay for a few nights we do not have any problems with him when he comes home. Very happy with the care and service. Louise & Poutu”
“Stayed there on our night, on our tour of New Zealand. This a first class hotel! Would highly recommend staying here. Their breakfast buffet is outstanding.”
“Very nice place! The service was excellent! The room was clean, bed comfortable. We had a very nice time. Decoration is “old”, but well maintained and it’s what keeps the character of the place. The restaurant is good as well! Lamb was awesome! You should definitely stay there if you pass by Christchurch.”
“been regularly staying here with the family whenever we are in Christchurch. we alto recommend this hotel to our own guests. a great boutique hotel in a great location staffed by efficient and friendly professionals with a consistently awesome restaurant”
“We love the team at Metro and George reassuringly seems to love them more than us cannot wait to be there for day stays or boarding. He was so little 7 yrs ago on his first visit and has been enjoying the best of care ever since. So Grateful. Maureen & Craig”
“Karaoke on a Friday night!! Lots of fun”
“What a fabulous evening we had. Angela was so welcoming, our room was perfect and we enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal in the restaurant. Thank you for making us feel special”
“If you are coming to Napier, the Art Deco Masonic Hotel is the perfect place to stay. The rooms are clean, fun, and comfortable. We originally only had a booking for 2 days but loved Napier and the hotel so much we booked an extra 2 days at the hotel. Victor at reception, and all the hotel’s staff, are very kind and accommodating. The hotel is in a great location, everything is walkable from it, and you’re right in the middle of downtown art deco center. When we return to Napier we will be staying at the Art Deco Masonic again!”
“Great location right in central Havelock North, making it super easy to explore the area - shops, cafes, and restaurants were just a short walk away. Loved the free gym access, also conveniently close. The stay was overall enjoyable with nice amenities and helpful staff. The only downsides were a bathroom light that annoyingly switched off every 2 minutes and a barely noticeable tapping noise from the wall. Still, the room was dark and cozy, perfect for a good night’s sleep. Definitely a good pick for anyone visiting the area!”
Careys Bay Historic Hotel favours a classic fish-and-chips line-up with clear, tidy flavours. Value feels fair for the spread. Easy to carry out for a simple night in. Portions are generous yet well judged.
“We visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon and the vibe was great. A live band was playing good tunes, not so loud that you couldn't enjoy a good yarn with your mates, and the staff were courteous and friendly. We arrived when it was very busy so the wait time for a cooked meal from the menu was an hour so keep that in mind if visiting when busy. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here and look forward to stopping in again over summer.”
“This is an absolutely gorgeous hotel, beautifully updated from the old Convent. Character on every wall and lovely staff who were welcoming and helpful. Will be back again, you have a wonderful little slice of history here.”
“It was an amazing final stop on North Island, we travelled by car from Auckland. Fully equipped room incl washing and drying machine, was a bless. Fully equipped kitchen if you'd like to cook during holiday time. Breakfast has some options however there's no coffee machine or veggie options. It's really close to historical/government city part.”
“We went to The Old Leithfield Hotel for dinner on a busy Saturday night (super rugby final) with our 5 month old baby. Even though we didn't have a booking the friendly wait staff went out of their way to accommodate us and made sure we were comfortable. We both had the roast which was generous and delicious. The beef was tender and the veges perfect it was the best pub experience with a young baby, and the best roast beef. We also had the salt and pepper squid entree which was fantastic. Perfectly tender and crispy! Thank you very much to the team at The Old Leithfield Hotel.”
“Loved the place. I’ve tried several hotels in the area and like this the most for its location, rooms and value for money. Loved their rooftop restaurant. I recommend their breakfast that can be included in the booking. Last but not least I loved the firm-ish bed. I feel rested.”
“This is use to be officer's quarter from the 40s. In good shape with a courtesy staff. Next door to the New Zealand Air Force Museam. No elevator but the front desk staff are in great shape and will carry your luggage. I offered a tip but he would not take it. Great food in the restaurant at a reasonable price. The room, 207 was a bit small but clean and comfortable.”
“Staying at Carnmore Hotel Christchurch was a remarkably satisfying experience. Friendly and helpful staff and I got my room ready even before the check-in time, which was very accommodating after a long tiring trip. The room size, its amenities and its facilities are what I'm just looking for. With a convenient location to bus stops, including a direct bus access to the airport and to the Bus Interchange. I am very grateful that I found this hotel on Trip.com, and if I ever have the chance to visit Christchurch again, I'll definitely stay here again”
“We had a wonderful experience staying at The Clarence Hotel in Tauranga. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. What really stood out to me was the personal service, something that's hard to find these days. Food and drinks 10/10. Pizza is a must try! Highly recommended for anyone looking for an exceptional stay.”
Talisman Hotel & Restaurant keeps things simple, bistro‑style and focused on flavour. Portions are generous yet well judged. The room sits relaxed with an easy buzz. Service stays present without fuss.
“The room and hotel were wonderful. Beautiful views, large modern clean room and a very responsive staff. It was in a great location with many dining and cute shopping experiences adjacent. The staff responsive and communicative and very helpful when I had trouble making calls on my own. They also provided a guest laundry service which was necessary after biking. I would highly recommend it and would come back again.”
“When we walked in everyone knew we were tourists, but they were all do welcoming. The barman helped us find a beer that we liked. Everyone was fantastic. We even brought a t-shirt. In Dog We Trust”
“Great place to go & relax grab a bite to eat...have some drinks...great staff...”
“I would give this place 10 stars if I could. The service was beyond incredible and the lovely managers were so accommodating and helpful when my boyfriend and I had our flight delayed. The room was comfy and the garden was beautiful. Great location with easy access to Mt Eden but not too far from downtown Auckland. We loved our stay and would highly recommend!!”
“Great stay at the Quest. I was able to cook meals and make myself hot drinks with the small kitchen in the room. Great size bathroom that had a bathtub, shower head, washing machine, and dryer in the room. The TV was one of the biggest TVs I've had in a hotel and was able to cast streaming apps from my phone. The mall, restaurants, museums, hospital and other shops are walking distance. I did have to pay for parking but didn't mind the added cost as it was safe, covered, and we were provided a remote to open the garage door. Also the cleaners would sometimes forget my towels in the bathroom or would leave lights on after cleaning but not a major issue. I would definitely come back again.”
“We had a very enjoyable stay at the Glimer Apartment Hotel. Very nice room, had everything we needed and the king size bed was amazingly comfortable. Although situated on a hilly area, it was very easy to get to Courtenay place by elevator and escalators. I would recommend.”
“What an awesome local, this was our second visit for a meal. We enjoyed our first visit last time we were in town and this visit was just as good. Great to see the quality experience wasn't a once off. Very friendly staff especially the mascot pup Oden. Service was fast friendly and no problem with my requests for a custom burger. Food was real, fresh and very enjoyable. Thanks guys we will be :-)”
“Awesome country pub with a good menu”
