Stayed 3 nights. Very clean rooms. Quiet. Good parking (extra cost but directly outside). 5 min walk to the city. An excellent cafe near by, very reasonable and great food and coffee - Mamba Cafe, access via Plimmer steps. We would stay again. Doesn’t have aircon but super fans. No problem.

Room was spotless & had the added bonus of a washing machine with built in dryer. Really appreciated i couldn't hear other guests when in my unit & the staff were very helpful. Would have been nice to have had plain tea bags & also powerpoints on either side of the bed to charge a cellphone. All in all, great value for money.

Great value, perfect location, and genuinely kind staff I stayed at the Gilmer Apartment Hotel in December and overall had a really good experience. The room was clean—spotless linen, tidy space—though there was a small blood stain on the wall near the toilet roll and the bathroom vent needed attention. A couple of replacement towels were also missing, but nothing that ruined the stay. The bed was comfortable. Being summer, the room ran a bit warm, but the fan made it completely manageable. The Wi-Fi was excellent (around 200 Mbps up and down), and having ethernet in the room was a big plus. Staff were great. They helped me with printing, and even sorted things out when I accidentally left my meds behind. The only hiccup was housekeeping knocking at 10:15am despite an agreed 11am checkout, but honestly, not a major issue. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Wellington but still incredibly quiet. Overall, a solid hotel at a genuinely good price. I’ll happily stay here again next time I’m in town for work.

Good hotel in the downtown Wellington area, at walking distance from the Te Papa Museum. Friendly receptionist. Good elevator. Our studio apartment room on the third floor was clean and well equipped, with a kitchenette, a washing machine, a small table, and bathroom. The name ‘apartment’ could be a bit misleading, as our room was a basic medium sized hotel room plus a small kitchen area, but it had no separate bedroom or living room. Not a lot of room between the bed and the table. Still, it had everything we needed. The kitchenette had a sink and a two-pit cooktop, glasses, mugs, plates, wine glasses, bowls, silverware (three of each) and some utensils like serving spoons, bottle opener, scissors etc. The kitchen also had a bread toaster, electric kettle, and a microwave. A kitchen towel and dishwashing liquid as well as laundry powder was provided. The washing machine was a dryer as well (one machine, two functions) and worked better than combo machines we had used at other hotels. It took about 2-3 h to dry, so longer than a separate dryer would take, but still got the job done in a reasonable amount of time. Shower was nice and hot, we (2 guests) had no issues with the water heater running out of warm water. The room also had a small table with two chairs and a separate comfy chair. The bed was good, not too soft. The blackout curtains were nice, because our window looked out on an office building with lots of lights on at night. The first night (Saturday) was very quiet, the second night (Sunday) there was a very noisy truck cleaning sewer drains or something at 11 pm. The third night was windy, with the wind making lots of noise. And the fourth night was ruined by a high pitched whistling sound that kept on for hours. Something different every night! Bring ear plugs. Good and reliable WiFi. The hotel has some limited and very tight parking. It is situated between multiple tall parking garages at a hill above downtown. To get to Lambton Quay, you can either take down the Plimmer steps for a good workout, or an elevator in the parking garage of the James Cook hotel, at the end of Gilmer Terrace.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Glimer Apartment Hotel. Very nice room, had everything we needed and the king size bed was amazingly comfortable. Although situated on a hilly area, it was very easy to get to Courtenay place by elevator and escalators. I would recommend.

Very comfortable apartment hotel in the central business district of Wellington, just five minutes' walk from the waterfront. We had a studio, single room with kitchenette and sitting area. It was a bit small, or I'd have given the room 5 stars. Staff were very accommodating, including finding a separate room for me to use for a two-hour work meeting during my stay. Plenty of great restaurants nearby. Free parking at the hotel. In-room washer and dryer.

Great location-close to everything. Make sure to ask about the elevator to Lambton Quay when you arrive. Our King apartment had everything we needed from good shampoos to stocked kitchen. The room was a bit dated and small but the bed was comfortable and the service was great. I would stay here again.

You guys have the most friendly staff ever. They were awesome. I do not know Wellington at all, they were super helpful in talking me through getting to Countdown for supplies. The night itself being Friday was filled with interesting outside noises... like the jungle, but human! The room itself was awesome. Clean, warm, comfortable and easy. Thanks very much. I will come again simply because of how friendly the staff are.

We have stayed at Gilmer Apartment Hotel on several occasions and we are always happy to come back here. The location is great and it is very easy to get to the central city from there to see the sights. It is useful that the hotel also offers the option of parking. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable and the staff are very helpful. A bonus is the possibility to use the facilities at a local gym which rounds off a great stay. Thank you!
