   My wife and I headed to Napier for the Art Deco Architecture. So what better place to stay than the Masonic Hotel? We had 4 lovely nights in the Hotel, eating in both the front bar and the rear Irish Bar. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the balcony as the sun went down, with a cup of tea. If you like Art Deco and Art Nouveau we would have no hesitation in recommending the Masonic. We would still recommend the hotel even if you don’t. The room we stayed in was well equipped, beautifully decorated, clean, and very quiet. Also worth pointing out my wife is vegan but still found a choice of meals in both bars. We would really love to go back someday.

   Very nice stay in a lovely period building. The service from check-in was excellent. Stayed one night. Although the room was a bit on the small side it was adaquate for a one night stay. The room had a doorway onto a common terrace which we did not use, our room had no other view. The accomodation was clean and comfortable. The bathroom spacious with a walk in shower. No safe in the room. We had a meal in the adjoining Irish Bar and breakfast in the cafe/bar at the front of the hotel. The breakfast was made to order from a menu and was very nice, probably the best breakfast we had had since arriving in New Zealand a week earlier. The location of the hotel is across the road from the ocean front and perfect for the town centre. Parking was in a leased lot a few streets away but you could park in the hotel loading bay to load/unload luggage. If I was to visit Napier again I would probably stay in the Art deco again.

   This place rules. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are excellent. There are great views. The restaurant is excellent downstairs. The staff are helpful and polite. The cleaners are wonderful and discreet. It’s right in the heart of Napier, with one of the best music shops just down the road - Music Machine. Also one one the best Pizza joints I’ve ever been to anywhere - Vinci’s. there is a great health food and cafe shop right near by too. One of my favourite places I’ve ever stayed.

   I have just returned from a four night stay at this fabulous hotel. My room was wonderful and tranquil, all the staff I met were welcoming and professional, the location couldn’t be better, particularly if you don’t have a car. I will definitely stay here when I next visit Napier and am happy to recommend it. It would be hard to do better.

   If you are coming to Napier, the Art Deco Masonic Hotel is the perfect place to stay. The rooms are clean, fun, and comfortable. We originally only had a booking for 2 days but loved Napier and the hotel so much we booked an extra 2 days at the hotel. Victor at reception, and all the hotel’s staff, are very kind and accommodating. The hotel is in a great location, everything is walkable from it, and you’re right in the middle of downtown art deco center. When we return to Napier we will be staying at the Art Deco Masonic again!

   Lovely comfortable room in a really nice hotel but the rooms are not sound proof at all & I kept waking up through the night as I could clearly hear people talking. At first (10.30pm) it sounded like it was people in another room or in the hall, then from about midnight thru to 2.30am it sounded like it was two guys in a bar but there wasn’t a bar below or outside & then about 5.00am I could hear a man & woman talking. Worst nights sleep I’ve had for quite a while so I doubt I’ll be back.

   This is our second stay at this iconic and beautiful hotel. We have now stayed in the Jean Batten suite and on our recent visit the Anna Pavlova suite. Both were outstanding in both facilities and decor. The location is second to none, right in the heart of Napier, and when you're on the balcony you look straight out to sea over the stunning Sound Shell square opposite. All the staff were amazing and couldn't be more helpful. This is an absolute must when you visit Napier, you will not regret it!

   My husband and I had a great stay at the hotel. The room was clean, comfortable and uniquely decorated. The staff were wonderful. Gabriel was very helpful and knowledgeable about the food and museums in the town. Everyone there was friendly. We will definitely go back.

   I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this hotel! After a horrible experience at another hotel, my partner and I were desperate to find a new place to stay, and this hotel came through for us in a big way. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating, even though we arrived very late at night. The hotel itself was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, making for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Additionally, the location couldn't have been better - there were so many fun and interesting attractions nearby to explore. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay - you won't be disappointed!

   We stayed here for our wedding anniversary and highly recommend it. Room was great, spacious and well appointed, staff very friendly and welcoming and the location could not be better. We particularly liked the shared balcony overlooking Marine Parade - gave the place even more of an authentic 30's feel.
