   Not a bad spot for a couple of nights. The rooms are a bit dated and could use some cleaning, but not the end of the world. Feels a bit like an airport hotel. The staff were all helpful, even with a 4am pickup for an early flight. Worth checking out.

   After comparing several options, even if it did not seem to be the best, we chose this hotel because of it's cental location. Just arrived and ...what a pleasant surprise! Close to everything, all ou need is at a short walking distcnce. Now, the really unexpected great surprise, the room: spacious, with all you need! And what about the bathroom: a 5 (FIVE) star, brand new, with ultra modern glass shower and extremely pleasant Grohe shower /rain system! Exactly what you need to relax and enjoy your stay!

   A fantastic place to stay. Loaded with beautiful architecture and class. Fantastic restaurant and a popular bar area make it a one stop place to stay. Central to the tour teams and within easy walk of family and couple based activities too.

   Most hotels at this level are pretty uniform in their amenities, etc. What distinguishes truly great from mundane is the human touch and service. It happened to be my wife’s birthday and we had a knock on the door and a complimentary plate of amazing pastries delivered to the room! That is service! True five star. The management here deserves highest recognition.

   We stayed in a family suite on two occasions on our recent visit to New Zealand. The rooms were large and clean, with everything you’d expect from a good hotel. The bathroom is big with an amazing deep bath, excellent shower and dual basins which is great with kids. The location is great, easy walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops. Great view from our tenth floor room. On our second visit we had a minor issue with the room which was very quickly rectified to our satisfaction by the manager. The staff were universally excellent and friendly. If you have a car, I recommend making use of the valet parking - it’s cheaper than paying for the car park across the road (which is very muddy) and the service was excellent.

   We stayed at the hotel last year everything was fine. We had an early check in which was helpful.Lovely staff. Although check out receptionist was rude and presented us with Extra charge for breakfast which we never had on that day. She didn't even bother to move a finger to check it with a kitchen. It was very unpleasant that we had to pay for nothing. By the way breakfast at the hotel was also disappointing.

   I recently stayed at the Distinction Christchurch Hotel. My room was wonderful and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. Always smiling and happy to show me on the map where places of interest could be found. Loved my stay.

   Even though we were in MIQ (which wasn't always easy) Distcton Christchurch really went above and beyond to help me and my families time go well. They even gave us a lovely platter for our anniversary with a card signed by the staff! They did the same thing for our son's 1st birthday! And the food was excellent!!
