Super cute hotel if you're looking for something a bit unique. Very convenient location for events at western. The rooms are very small with minimal amenities, but are still comfortable with nice decor.

It was a winterβs day in Auckland, with a cold southerly wind cutting through to the bone, but stepping inside The Convent Hotel felt like walking into a warm embrace. The interior exudes charm and character, with our room carrying a country French feel β rustic furnishings, brass plumbing, and polished wooden floors that creak ever so slightly underfoot. We stayed in the family room 22 which fitted 3 adults and a 5yo very comfortably. The walls are adorned with eclectic and thoughtful art, each piece adding to the hotelβs unique personality. Thereβs a sense of history here, paired with modern comfort, that makes it more than just a place to stay β itβs an experience. The restaurant menu looked excellent, though sadly we didnβt stay long enough to try it β a reason to return next time. Conveniently located close to the city, itβs the perfect base for exploring Auckland while enjoying a touch of boutique luxury at an affordable price.

This is an absolutely gorgeous hotel, beautifully updated from the old Convent. Character on every wall and lovely staff who were welcoming and helpful. Will be back again, you have a wonderful little slice of history here.

Room is basically clean and tidy, nothing special. Main criticism is the size, it feels cramped. Plus, not a fan of the rainforest shower head, prefer a hose, but that's just one person's preference.

Lovely stay! Gorgeous room, comfy bed & great location. I also lost my key (don't do that) and finally I found it. The super friendly staff said "wait a few days & see if it turns up", before paying for a lock change which thankfully it did turn up. So nice to experience kindness!

Really surprised by all the positive reviews. Our room was upstairs and boy was it noisy. We could hear all of the footsteps, doors/cupboards opening and closing, conversations, and movements of guests in other rooms! It was like they were in the same room as us. Our room was tiny! Not even enough space to make a coffee. Felt very claustrophobic. Sure, the interior was interesting and novel. However, the lack of space and the noise made us checkout half an hour after we checked in. There was no way we would be getting any sleep, privacy or relaxation if we stayed. Super disappointing. The concierge wasnβt super welcoming and their office was awkward to approach. We had booked a carpark, which he had given to someone else and we were told to park on the road. When we went to leave, to his credit, he did refund our money for our two night stay. The restaurant was loud too, even in the afternoon when we checked in/out. I think rooms on floor-level would have the same issues as us (if not worse) with the level of noise. Maybe the bigger rooms upstairs would be worth going to. They were sold out by the time we booked, as it was a long weekend. But, we certainly wonβt be back.

We loved it here, the location is great if you're from Auckland you will know if you're not it's a short walk to the dairy supermarket food places and not far from town or Western springs the zoo and good for buses. Safe area. Room was excellent spotless. Bed was too soft for my liking but that's a me problem!

This hotel is really best for couples or two people on vacation together. Itβs a beautiful building and the interior is well decorated. But a warning to families that the finery is not comfortable crammed into a room together (we were a party of 3). Please also know before booking that the restaurant is not for guests, itβs separate. So you will have to listen to that noise every night and probably never get in to actually try it. When I asked the hostess our first night there, after being referred to eat there by hotel staff, she very rudely said there were no openings for 3 our entire stay and βmaybeβ one for two people the next night. We stayed 5 nights. When I give 2 stars to service, Iβm referring to the manager on duty and the hostess encounter I just described. The housekeepers do a fine job. When I asked a manager to send a maintenance person because our bathroom door was really squeaky, to the point of waking each other up in the middle of the night, he looked at me like I had horns growing out of my head. That never got fixed. We also found ants in our room. The location is convenient to Eden Park, but youβll need to walk down the street for other dining options and the only nearby place open late is the other hotel, and the food there is not great. This experience was entirely counter to every other one we had in New Zealand.

A beautifully renovated hotel but we were put in a room with a wet room for a bathroom which was really unsuitable. We also got moved one night because the door broke and they didnβt offer us any compensation or an upgrade for the following night. Itβs also very loud with the restaurant across the hall!

LOVE THIS PLACE. ADA RESTAURANT HERE IS THEE BEST!! my daughter and l had an upgrade to a balcony room. I love the lotions abd potions clean smelling bed sheets and pillows. The nibbles for free in your room. Who doesn't love these touches,? and the milk frother for the Nespresso....... The staff are cool the rooms are awesome the interior design,, man we love it. The only place we stay at because ITS CLEAN , DID I MENTION CLEAN ?? SAFE ,WARM ,CLOSE TO CAFES ETC , AND REASONABLY PRICED. If you are fortunate to stay there when the Ada testaurant is open them l recommend booking when you book your rooms. It's popular. Balcony rooms are the best, we ordered Uber Eats late one night got a Red out on the balcony with 3 of us Fantastic place to stay.
