Unfortunately, I have moved away from Auckland so only get to experience it once in a blue moon but it's always a highlight of my trip when I return.”

“Had dinner at Portofino Takapuna, an authentic Italian restaurant by the beach. I ordered the Prosciutto Pizza and Seafood Risotto—both were absolutely amazing. The pizza was perfectly baked with a thin, crispy base and generous toppings, while the risotto was rich, creamy, and full of fresh seafood flavours. A truly delightful dining experience that captures the taste of Italy right here in Takapuna. Highly recommended!”

“We had a wonderful meal there last night. The views were fantastic, all the wait staff and the hostess were lovely and very helpful. We had someone who was GF and she was well looked after. Everything was made fresh and we couldn’t fault it. The massaman lamb was delicious and the money bags were the best we have eaten. The prices were reasonable too. Will definitely be back!! “First time visitor. We ventured over to Devonport for brunch. Made our choice to try Manuka. I had the rost with smoked salmon and small flat white. The rosti with salmon, poached egg was wonderful. Being from Wellington I sort of smiled when I was asked if I wanted my coffee with a double shot, this is a given in Wellington. Coffee was great. Service professional but friendly.”

“I had my 90th birthday at the Wade, and it couldn't have been better. The staff were so kind and attentive, especially our host Tye who was excellent. He really made the experience special. The decor has recently been revamped and is really nice. The menu is comprehensive and reasonably priced. There is also a BYO option for the budget conscious. I had the Chicken Rogan Josh... superb!”

“Definitely an amazing restaurant with delicious food at a good price! We particularly loved the spaghetti gamberi and the cannelloni. The desserts looked amazing, but we did not try it as we were full with the generous portions of the main dish. Extra spice could be asked :) The staff is very friendly! The website is updated, so you can find the menu online and check the prices.”

“Food was delicious! Super busy but food and coffee quality was great. Service was superb due to the busyness on a Saturday lunch the staff still kept the front house tidy and clearing time was outstanding. I sat and watched the team as they did their thing! Great team work!! Atmosphere is busy but love a busy cafe when your mind is a bit too loud and you want to drown your thoughts hehe. Loved the atmosphere and so does my little one when she made friends in the play area.”
