“We tried the tortellini and spaghetti bolognaise, it was absolutely delicious. It’s been a while since we’ve been to a proper Italian restaurant and this one didn’t disappoint. The atmosphere is beautiful, service is attentive and friendly. We will come back if we are in this area again.”
“Wow what a delightful experience. Food was outstanding. Would love to see the outside setting in daylight, as looked amazing. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.”
“Such an awesome restaurant!! We went for dinner on day 2 after their opening. Food was just awesome, great flavours!! Great service! Definitely recommend checking this out!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“I absolutely love Ambrosia Restaurant. The food is always delicious and the service is consistently great. I’ve never had a bad meal here — every visit has been fantastic. Highly recommended!”
“My favourite Malaysian restaurant in Auckland. We have tried so many different dishes from here across our various visits and they have always been delicious and also generous in portion sizes. My favourite dish here is the okra, eggplant and bean sambal but there are so many others too - the slow cooked pork belly with salted fish, butter floss fish, fried rice, honey soy chicken, the list goes on! The large tables upstairs are great for groups.”
“Hidden little gem, in a quite corner of a small shopping centre. The banjan borani was absolutely amazing, with the kebabs platter & biryani to go on the side, was a delicious meal. Service was almost non existent but the authentic chefs in the background stole the show for us.”
“Always great service and amazing food. My only Chinese takeaway.”
“We usually eat at the well known Chinese resto at New North rd but decided to give Tasty Bbq restaurant a try. We were not disappointed at all. Asian lady taking orders was really super friendly and well groomed. Place was a little bit small but the ambiance is all good. The place was well lit and images of the food on the wall with prices really helps with what to order. Price is a bit higher if going to be compared to the bbq Chinese resto on the ther side but taste and quantity is well worth it. Serving was really fast. Only negative we can think of is the shrimp on the vermicelli we order was kinda hard removing the skin but the taste was on the spot. We will definitely come back. Oh, and they have a reward system, they give you a stamp for every $35 spent and will get a $20 off on the 10th visit.”
“Cozy, nice decorated restaurant. Delicious meals and fresh ingredients, highly recommend the steamed fish boat special”
“Love the service and the food is even better! Always a positive experience visiting this location. Will continue to support this business for the foreseeable future!”
“We had an great dine in meal here. Ordered kadai paneer, vegetable manchurian and chicken korma and all dishes were excellent. The service was wonderful. Thanks!”
“Oddly it was Christmas themed in early October, too early or didn’t take down last year’s decorations? The food was amazing though, can’t fault any of it. It’s quite a drive from central Auckland but I would go back any time I’m passing through Manukau for sure!”

“Delicious food! Must try Spicy Garlic Udon stir try!!”
“Awesome food and ambiance. I went for the lunch and ordered butter naan, garlic naan and Methi Malai matar. The taste was delicious. Service was excellent. The seating arrangement was perfect. They served papad and rice complimentary. Will surely visit again.”
“Hi having dinner have been several times and the food has been consistently good. The beef black bean with a bit of chilli thrown is excellent. The place is always busy and I recommend booking as it is small and just turning up may lead to disappointment. The staff are friendly and helpful.”
“Food was fantastic, good range of choices in the menu, starters, mains and desserts. Highly recommend the Chicken Satay skewer mains and Deep Fried Ice Cream dessert. Staff regularly checked on you so you never feel unattended or missing something. Outdoor seating was really enjoyable especially in Spring, nice and warm arranged in a way where the wind breaks. View is otherwise obstructed by overgrown plants and vehicles.”
“Surprisingly authentic Chinese restaurant in the middle of Auckland CBD. The food is well prepared. It is apparent that they actually take the time to marinate the food for an adequate amount of time using the right seasoning before cooking, which yields an authentic and intense flavor. This is not the typical Chinese restaurant which just dump salty sauce on bland meat. This place is legit! Service was quick and friendly, makes one feel like going home for dinner. All good. I went there twice in three days and consistently failed to take pictures of the food before eating because it was just too yummy.”
“The kopi was perfect. I ordered a cup of coffee with milk and a cup of coffee with sugar. After chatting with the girl who made the coffee for a while, I finally understood why it tasted so good. By the way, their lunch special, curry fish fillet rice, was delicious. It was very authentic Malaysian style, and the compound curry seasoning was great.”
“Lovely homestyle Northern Chinese food. The owner/cook is really warm and friendly. The cooking somehow has a very comforting, homelike feel- like you are at an aunty's house (aunty who is amazing at cooking). Served nice jasmine tea, and ordered spicy fried chicken cartilage (alright, a bit too overcooked but nice flavour), rice dish with tofu and pork and green pepper (the BEST) and mapo tofu. Some of the cheapest eats you'll find. Each dish was about $12.”
“Nice food and friendly staffs, cheap smiles and greetings yet still giving you space for your privacy and peace whilst you enjoying food. I have been roaming around for food since 11 in the afternoon and enjoying a small dish yet enjoyable, if you in the same happened with me, you probably want to choose fish pàte. Cripsbread with the smokefish and sour cream are just legend! Salad is kinda look normal until you got the bite of sweetened grape mix with them. It’s definetely heaven and plus you can still make space for dessert after that delightful meal. I chose chocolate platter, macaron and raisin cake was kinda slow but wait until you get a spoon of the rest 2 bites (which i forgot what was their name, they placed at the very end left and right of the dish) Ohh ofcourse rose lover like me definitely satisfied with house wine The Ned that was recommended by the waiter, not too dry yet still flavorful of berries and cinnamon. I am fully recommend this restaurant for your culinary stopover.”
“The service is quick, the place is neat and they have ample seating space. Also the food quality is fresh and tasty. The quantity they provide is enough to get you full as well.”
“Starts at 6pm Unlimited Buffet Eat all you can All you can eat Bottomless Smorgasbord Good amount of variety. But i think something is missing, like dim sum/siu mai. hopefully they include bottomless fizzy drinks too. Add tomato sauce and aioli for the chips too maybe? And have some chili garlic sauce available too The place very neat and clean”
“Cozy atmosphere, great food and customer service. Coffee is nice too.”
“My partner and I came here for our anniversary dinner. The food was very reasonably priced, pretty classic food menu. We even got a free dessert as I mentioned it was our anniversary. Very friendly staff and cozy atmosphere with a lovely view! Will definitely be back!”
“Dined in for yum cha on a weekday. The service was so warm and hospitable, it felt like being welcomed into someone’s house. Very leisurely vibes with retiree locals and regulars rolling in and staying awhile. The radish cake was very tasty and dumplings were crammed with filling. Located on a main road but can be easily accessed via James Street, past the back of the Mobil petrol station.”
“This Chinese restaurant is underrated. The location is by the shopping centre car-park, so it’s not visibly obvious from the main road. The food (particularly vegetable dishes) is exquisite. I recommend Eggs fried with tomatoes (西红柿炒鸡蛋), it’s a Chinese common dish, but it’s the best that I’ve tasted anywhere. I also recommend eggplant stir fried with beans. Nice atmosphere as well. They also do a typical northern Chinese breakfast in the morning.”
“I was blown away by the dishes. All the ingredients were fresh and deliciously prepared. Service was friendly and fast too. This was a truly mouthwatering and memorable meal at a good price. Highly recommend it!”
“The place is full-packed and yet the service is still fast. Delicious food.”
“This restaurant is solid. Don‘t be deceived by the negative reviews. The chicken skewers were delicious.”
