“Was recommended to come here for the Lambs Fry, so I made the trek out to this little cafe and it dosent disappoint. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful! The food was homely and very satisfying as well. They have a whole range of food items, hot or cold! Of course there are espresso based drinks, as well as alcoholic if you want a cold brew! There are lovely little tables inside to sit at, or there are tables littered all over the courtyard!”

“We stayed at Fernhill Cottages for a month while in between houses. Cosy and comfortable and we were able to keep our furbabies with us which was such a relief. We'll equipped cottage with plenty of place to park and it even had a desk to be able to work as well. Thank you for having us Kirsty and Collin!”

“What a beautiful location! We had high tea - the food, all made in house, was divine. The hot scones, made freshly for us, were light and fluffy and served with delicious jam and fresh cream. The tea was lovely, with bottomless refills of the tea pot. And there is something peaceful about looking over the garden, watching ducks and chickens foraging whilst sparrows gather for crumbs. The service was also wonderful, friendly but professional. I would thoroughly recommend a visit! N.B. There is other food apart from a high tea, and it looked wonderful!”

“The Vineyard Cottages are stunning! I spent a few days here with my friends and family before my wedding at Kumeu Valley Estate. The staff at the Vineyard Cottages are like no other, they are incredible! Everything you could think of was considered and they make your stay extra special. You feel like part of the family when you stay there. The rooms are perfect for 2-3 people to stay in and getting ready for a wedding it’s lovely being able to dip in and out of each others cottages. The small extras are such a luxury - mini jams, lovely bread, milk and juice in classic bottles and if you book the bridal package the breakfast platter is incredible. I would highly recommend this venue to any brides and her friends looking for a lovely setting before the big day or for anyone looking for a lovely relaxing escape in the country. An added bonus is the beautiful backdrop for photos! Thank you again Rae, Ellie and co ❤️ we will be back!”

“I visited this fine wee establishment today while out riding my motorbike from Cambridge to Auckland and back. What can I say... the staff were so friendly and accommodating. As I'm on a rather strict diet, I didn't eat anything, but the cabinet food and food service looked so appetising and yum. The service, well the owner should be very proud of his staff, they work with purpose and a smile... loved it!! And the atmosphere was quaint rustic charm, spot on!! Not only highly recommended, but definitely a must visit again.”

“My son has been going to Kindy Cottage from age 1 and he is now getting ready to leave and go to school. We have had a fantastic experience with Kindy Cottage throughout his whole journey. The owners and the teachers all care passionately about the children and their wellbeing. The spaces that are available for the children are safe, clean, relaxed and well thought out. I have really appreciated the time the teachers have spent to understand what inspires my son and provide learning tools that he loves. “Carolyn the host of Country Cottages was so accomodating of my parents. The location was perfect and so private. The cottage was roomy, perfectly clean and had everything you could need. The outlook was especially wonderful and there was an outdoor picnic table too. A fantastic retreat if your looking to get away from the business of everyday life. Perfect for a couple. “John was an excellent host and the place was incredible. The views were absolutely epic and we enjoyed visiting the beach and dunes. If you’re looking for a remote area to stay, this is it. It is about an hour from Auckland. I recommend visiting Rotorua, as well as PIha beach if you have the time. So awesome. I’ll probably never be back because I live 16 hours away via airplane but the memories I had were once in a lifetime. Thanks John, I hope to see you one day again. “Update: its been a couple of yesrs since I first reviewed here. It feels like it maybe has new ownership. The cooked menu is offering all options now. Staff are still friendly, service, cabinet and coffee are good. Under new management since last time I was here. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Staple bakery items are still available but quite a few cooked menu items are no longer available. The coffee is now by Allpress, but the coffee training needs some work as my coffee was poorly extracted, the texture light and watery and the milk texture had too much air.”

“If only I knew. I worked in Auckland off and on over 2 years, and Debbies cottage would have made those experiences so much better than staying in the apartment. It’s a perfect layout - separated from the main house, cosy, fully self contained, and a stones throw from the Mt Eden shops. Notable and awesome fact: it’s in a dead end street, behind Mt Eden - so it’s quiet. Really quiet. So great. As was the hospitality of Debbie. Will look to return ASAP.”

“My daughter has been coming here for 5 months now - she is 2 years old. She absolutely loves it and it has been awesome to watch her confidence build since she started as well as listening to her sing the songs she's learned when she comes home. The staff are all fantastic, you can tell they are passionate about what they do and in caring for each child's individual needs. It always amazes me how calm and quiet the toddler room usually is and I feel this is a reflection of the great staff. They also helped hugely with my daughter's sleep and provided her cuddles and comfort with encouragement. Now she can go to sleep by herself :) Thank you!”

“We can highly recommend Harbour View Cottage for a place to stay for a night or two as we did once when returning from an overseas trip, and again for a family reunion. The cottage is charming, quaint, clean, reasonably priced and quiet and the hosts couldn't have been more helpful. We plan to go back again soon as there's the huge Factory shopping complex all in walking distance. It's a lovely spot even for a night's hideaway..”
