“We visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon and the vibe was great. A live band was playing good tunes, not so loud that you couldn't enjoy a good yarn with your mates, and the staff were courteous and friendly. We arrived when it was very busy so the wait time for a cooked meal from the menu was an hour so keep that in mind if visiting when busy. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here and look forward to stopping in again over summer.”

Bathrooms worth a mention, very clean and lots of stalls. Loved the food!!! We shared a pizza, mac n cheese bites and truffle fries. I'll be back!!”

“Great little Irish Pub tucked away down a side alley in Newmarket. It was the perfect stop for a restful lunch and drink after shopping up a storm at the Newmarket mall. Great, friendly service. Meals were fantastic and reasonably priced. We enjoyed steak and the special of the day Beef Thai Salad. Will definitely stop in again!”

“I went to a team lunch, and it turned out to be pretty nice. I had a delicious cheeseburger and it seems like a fun spot to catch a game—you can really feel the energy there. The staff were super friendly, and the place was clean. Getting a table was easy, though it can get a bit busy in the evenings.”

“I love The Patriot, it’s easily my second-favourite spot to enjoy a cold, refreshing beverage on a sunny afternoon. (First place goes to my lounge when the All Blacks are on.) I’m a proud regular, usually popping in once or twice a week to take advantage of a good 2 for 1 deal and some great food. But for the love of all things holy, please don’t change the rib sauce. I’m not sure if it was just tonight and my taste buds were having an identity crisis, but something tasted different. Those ribs are usually perfection and I frequently advertise them as the best ribs on the shore, so if there’s been a tweak to that glorious sauce, I’m begging you, bring it back!”

“Friendly staff who are helpful and know their alcohol, and mixers. Food is amazing, especially the pork ribs. Clean and tidy interior, gaming area is separate from the pub, so you can enjoy your company and not hear the pokies going off. Great place overall.”

“I can only rate the bar and the meal, as we didn't stay at their accommodation. Although the restaurant was closed, we were able to order at the bar. The bar was very busy, but the staff took our order and brought our drinks promptly to us. We both ordered the chicken parmigiana and were very happy with it. The serving size was more than enough, and we felt the wait really wasn't that long at all, especially considering how busy they were. I'd be happy to return again the next time I'm in Auckland.”

“For the price, outstanding. Huge plate of lamb rump and two skewers. Nicely done fresh veg. If you're unfortunate enough to start at the nearby Novotel, ignore their wretched restaurant and take a 15 minute walk to Green Lane Gastro Pub. Well worth it. My meal was lovely and every other plate I saw going out looked great.”

“The two indian brothers that run this place are very attentive and professional, and service is top-notch. I've been a few times and rate it as one of the best Indian cuisine (& Thai fusion mix) curry houses on the north shore. Food is outstanding, has a very tasty and subtle blend of spice and melt-in-your mouth meat and crisp veg, and is now our favorite place to relax and have a kingfisher on tap. There is also another place upstairs, above them thats always quite busy, which I don't rate at all. Right next to the sea, good for a walk off them superb and delicious calories afterward.”

“A fun place for watching quirky local shows or established artists "slumming it" for intimate gigs. There's usually a great selection of wines and beers on offer and the programme shifts often enough to keep you coming back.”

“Had a great lunch stop on the way to the airport on Tuesday. The range of GP beers is always a selection dilemma, but settled on a February Fresh IPA... delicious. Enjoyed a great VEGAN masala toastie. Guys you really need to refresh the menu and add more plant-based choices!”

“I was searching for a new bar cabinet. In early October I stumbled across the Lounge and Living site searching for Coastwood Furniture Collection. L&L are agents for Coastwood. I dealt with Gotham and explained to him what I was after. Within hours he had a design for me which suited my needs perfectly. We chose the finish and waited for approximately 6 weeks for the bespoke item to be shipped. In mid November I received delivery of the cabinet and …. WOW.... it is everything and more I could have ever expected. The finish was perfect, the colour was perfect and the gap left for my display fridge was 100% correct and the fridge fitted perfectly. My dealing with Gotham has been an absolute pleasure and if I ever need another bespoke or off the shelf piece of furniture, I know where I will go first! “What an experience! Took my girlies to their first drag show and it was incredible. Everything from the gorgeous girls, ambience, food and many laughs were just brilliant. You get to keep the souvenir cups which is a cute memory. Food tasted so homey and just what we needed before continuing the night. Bar Manager and Bartender pushed drinks out the whole time and did an awesome job. Not only the girls performances were so fun and enjoyable to watch but their service throughout the whole night were so attentive and glamorous. Met some incredible people and would highlyyyyy recommend anyone to book for either an occasion or just to try something with friends.”

Had breadfruit for the first time since visiting the islands. Just really gorgeous, simple and fulling meals. I was looked after by Asif who took great care of our table (my partner and I).
