“Food was fantastic, good range of choices in the menu, starters, mains and desserts. Highly recommend the Chicken Satay skewer mains and Deep Fried Ice Cream dessert. Staff regularly checked on you so you never feel unattended or missing something. Outdoor seating was really enjoyable especially in Spring, nice and warm arranged in a way where the wind breaks. View is otherwise obstructed by overgrown plants and vehicles.”

“I was pleasantly surprised to find a highly-rated Thai restaurant nearby on Google. Though the restaurant is quite small, it's exceptionally clean. We ordered pad Thai, fried squid, and green curry - all of which were absolutely delicious. The food was fresh and beautifully presented. “We heard about this restaurant through the local Thai community page on Facebook. We went there for Saturday lunch and are very pleased we did. It brings back fond memories of time we have spent in Thailand. Inside it is cosy and the decor is quite interesting and not overstated. The menu seems to be based on Thai street food plus many of our favorites, we had Basil stir fry with pork mince, Moo Ping and the best dish of all, crispy Pork belly with stir fried vegetables. I haven't had such good trasting crispy pork for many years. Everything was so good we bought two more dishes and took them home for dinner. However, of late they have been a bit Lackadaisical, opening late or not opening at scheduled time, without notice or advice on the various websites.”

Overheard the gentleman at the counter telling a customer not to rush to pick-up her takeaway order when she asked to collect during their closing time (8pm). He said they will wait for her (aww).”

“Got recommended this place by a friend and with the thought of supporting our local small businesses, four of us decided to eat in, theres only three tables and we took two lol. Lucky there werent any others eating in as it would be very cosy. We ordere green chicken curry, red chicken curry, pad thai, spring rolls curry puffs, tom yum soup and man was it fast coming out of their small kitchen. My fav is green curry and pad thai chicken of course. Was in and out in less than an hour which worked out good cause theres not alot of 60 min parking opposite. Highly recommend. Thanks Thai Hut.”

“As a Vietnamese person visiting this restaurant abroad, I was really happy! When I walked in, the cozy vibe and yummy smells of Vietnamese food made me feel at home. The staff welcomed me with big smiles and took great care of me during my meal. I tried the pho, and it was amazing—rich broth, perfect noodles, and lots of fresh herbs and meat. Each bite was so flavorful, just like the street food in Vietnam. The spring rolls were also delicious, crispy outside and full of fresh ingredients. What I loved most was how the staff shared their favorite dishes with me and made great suggestions. Their love for Vietnamese food showed, making the experience even better. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants authentic Vietnamese food. I left super satisfied and can’t wait to come back. Give it a shot!”

“I just finished going up mount Eden and was hungry. Found this place nearby. It's a fairly small place. Seats about 25. Nice, subtle decor. Got the steamed duck #38, with coconut rice. I was hoping for thai tea but they had run out. It took about a half hour to be served. I'm going to assume it was made to order, it was that good. Nicely presented in a shaped dish. I recommend Basil Thai, make reservations!”

“They have seating available for couples to large groups and it is best to book a table. More of a Thai fusion restaurant, but the flavours are really tasty and presented well. The deep fried whole barramundi and BBQ beef short rib are highly recommended. They also have kids menu and a good selection of cocktails.”

“This place is always busy so recommend you make a booking. The food is tasty and consistently good. And between October and February, you have to regularly go to eat, or just drop in to grab the mango sticky pea flower rice, as the season is limited! Dominion Rd was buzzing, despite no rugby game on at Eden Park and lots of people out which was great to see. Worth a visit :)”
