“Food was fantastic, good range of choices in the menu, starters, mains and desserts. Highly recommend the Chicken Satay skewer mains and Deep Fried Ice Cream dessert. Staff regularly checked on you so you never feel unattended or missing something. Outdoor seating was really enjoyable especially in Spring, nice and warm arranged in a way where the wind breaks. View is otherwise obstructed by overgrown plants and vehicles.”

Everyone ordered something different and yet all the food was delicious and everyone was satisfied. Bill was also reasonably priced and good value for money. “We heard about this restaurant through the local Thai community page on Facebook. We went there for Saturday lunch and are very pleased we did. It brings back fond memories of time we have spent in Thailand. Inside it is cosy and the decor is quite interesting and not overstated. The menu seems to be based on Thai street food plus many of our favorites, we had Basil stir fry with pork mince, Moo Ping and the best dish of all, crispy Pork belly with stir fried vegetables. I haven't had such good trasting crispy pork for many years. Everything was so good we bought two more dishes and took them home for dinner. However, of late they have been a bit Lackadaisical, opening late or not opening at scheduled time, without notice or advice on the various websites.”

Highly recommend their money bags as an appetizer! Everything is cooked to perfection. The owners are amazing and so friendly. Lucky there werent any others eating in as it would be very cosy. We ordere green chicken curry, red chicken curry, pad thai, spring rolls curry puffs, tom yum soup and man was it fast coming out of their small kitchen. My fav is green curry and pad thai chicken of course. Was in and out in less than an hour which worked out good cause theres not alot of 60 min parking opposite. Highly recommend. Thanks Thai Hut.”

“Wow. This is a great little restaurant. The Duck Curry is to die for and this time the Beef with black bean sauce was also a winner. Thai fish cakes a bit bland but else was amazing. Even had a sea view. We also do Uber Eats from this restaurant too.”

“As a Vietnamese person visiting this restaurant abroad, I was really happy! When I walked in, the cozy vibe and yummy smells of Vietnamese food made me feel at home. The staff welcomed me with big smiles and took great care of me during my meal. I tried the pho, and it was amazing—rich broth, perfect noodles, and lots of fresh herbs and meat. Each bite was so flavorful, just like the street food in Vietnam. The spring rolls were also delicious, crispy outside and full of fresh ingredients. What I loved most was how the staff shared their favorite dishes with me and made great suggestions. Their love for Vietnamese food showed, making the experience even better. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants authentic Vietnamese food. I left super satisfied and can’t wait to come back. Give it a shot!”

“Delicious food, generous portion and a very very kind and sincere owner who serves with care, ensuring patrons are comfortable and relaxed in the restaurant. Had dinner there in June 2025 and for 1 hr, I watch the numerous customers who dined in or took out. Service is prompt and considerate. No wonder there were so many customers. Owner even recommended tourist spots and tips for good photos. Service left a lasting impression, hence I had to leave a positive note though was so busy after my last visit as a tourist to Pukekohe. Highly recommended!”

“I just finished going up mount Eden and was hungry. Found this place nearby. It's a fairly small place. Seats about 25. Nice, subtle decor. Got the steamed duck #38, with coconut rice. I was hoping for thai tea but they had run out. It took about a half hour to be served. I'm going to assume it was made to order, it was that good. Nicely presented in a shaped dish. I recommend Basil Thai, make reservations!”

“They have seating available for couples to large groups and it is best to book a table. More of a Thai fusion restaurant, but the flavours are really tasty and presented well. The deep fried whole barramundi and BBQ beef short rib are highly recommended. They also have kids menu and a good selection of cocktails.”
