“The detour approaching Jacob’s Ladder bridge was muddy 4/10/2023 in places. The descent was slippery but not very challenging. Families with young kids navigated easily.”
“There to officiate a wedding. A stunning spot on a sunny day.”
“Excellent 360° view of Wellington and its surrounds. Make sure you pack wind breaker as it definitely is exposed at the top.”
“Awesome place for an uphill walk”
“Beautiful house with an interesting history, amazing rooms all wonderfully restored and with fantastic NZ art and furniture. Richard our tour guide was great - so informative, passionate about the place and had so many interesting stories and facts to share. A great way to spend an afternoon - highly recommend”
“Really helpful. I needed a couple of items for an event with a tight schedule. The guys measured me up, made some calls and got me sorted in 24hrs. Quality clothes and great service. Thank you.”
“Very noice. Quiet, well kept island. Short, easy walks all around the island. Worth a visit.”
“Well-maintain track with wide walkway. A little bit uphill but good for morning walk. We enjoy the voew of wellington city and also see the top of southern alps from the top of track. Make sure you bring enough water for walk! **thus track are join with red rock coastal walk, just walk down the hill approximately 5 km.”
“Beautiful spot and a lot of work going into its restoration. A gentle 3km walk - after a 500 m climb.”
“A nice walkway next to the wharf that provides nice views of the harbor, and leads to a nice happening area with various restaurants, bars, and high end shops. The walk is flat and easy so can be managed by anyone with basic fitness, however it’s windy in general and in a windy day it gets slightly challenging to walk. The walk from the parking lot at this location to the shops is 1.6 KM / 1 mile. Walking from the parking lot to the other end will take at least 30 minutes with plenty of stops around monuments on the way.”
“Good for those who loves walking, hiking. It was first time for me with friend. It was good. My suggestion to do Johnsonville to Karori.”
“Beautiful park, very popular and seems to be a camping hot spot.”
“The very best point to get views of Oriental Bay and beyond. The "convent" is undergoing renovation and on weekdays parking at this spot might be problematic.”
“Fantastic walk up to the old gun positions for lunch. The walk back around the beach takes a bit longer but is worth it. Rocky bottom beaches but the water is very refreshing after the climb. Those of moderate fitness can complete this walk but should take their time as the initial climb is quite steep. Ring ots on water and on sunny days a hat and sunscreen! There is no shade to be found. Highly recommend for a fun day out.”
“I recently visited the beach, and it was an amazing experience. The walk along the shore with my dog and kids was absolutely perfect—plenty of space to roam and explore. The views were breathtaking, with the expansive ocean stretching out in front of us. If you're lucky, you might even spot some seals lounging nearby, which was a real highlight of the day. A perfect spot for a family outing, with nature at its finest!”
“I visited the Mount Victoria Lookout, which sits at the highest point in Wellington, and the experience was truly breathtaking. From one side, you get a stunning view of the endless sea, and from the other, the entire Wellington city opens up beautifully beneath you. You can even watch planes landing and taking off at the airport—it’s a mesmerizing sight from that height. The lookout also features photos showing how Wellington has evolved from the early 1900s to today, which adds a lovely historical touch to the visit. Overall, it’s one of the finest places to explore with family, offering unforgettable views and a calming atmosphere.”
“National museum of New Zealand that hold a big native collection, 3 floors with a lot of history, and for me, the most impressive is the war one, with it's people representing what they were doing in a big scale, that you can view the details of the figures. Worth to take a look and visit it! :)”
“Well worth a visit. Lots of birds, great informative signage, beautiful bush. Good place to visit if you don't have time to do any bush walking - gives you a great taste of it! Also, the Cafe is excellent! Great coffee and really lovely food”
“The wind farm has some amazing views of kapiti and mana islands, plus the south island on clear days. The drive up was a bit hard due to the windy roads, but totally worth it. Would recommend coming here at least once, and would recommend bringing a jacket, it is super windy.”
“Top views of Wellington and surrounding areas. Great place to start a walk.”
“One of the scariest experiences of my life!!! So exhilarating! The live actors are amazing at their job, the staff are very friendly (and hilarious!), and the execution was just phenomenal. Seriously recommend this place if you want a good scare!”

“Nice place to go for a walk. Go during sunny days. Long walk to reach the dam. So make sure to have water with you. Lovely lake with ducks.”
“OMG what a beautiful place... such a great vibe here.... Fab views....Great walks & very good for dog walkers too..”
“Amazing experience for our Valentine's Day date! The set menu was excellent value and a stunning range of flavours. Good service and cozy atmosphere. Our only minor constructive feedback is we weren't aware of the set menu until we arrived. It wasn't an issue for us, however being proactively informed beforehand would have been appreciated :-). Thanks for an excellent meal - we'll be back!”
“It was really interesting with lots of interesting things to look at and read. I loved reading about the history of the New Zealand Police and seeing how things have changed. It's free to get into which is nice and wasn't busy when we went.”
“A beautiful park with a lot of long trails, mountains, forests, waterfalls etc. Bring enough time and water, you can't buy anything there, I also haven't seen a toilet or something. I was there when it was very cloudy, so I couldn't take very nice pictures of the landscape. Make sure the weather is good tho.”
“Logan was very good at leading the tour and the whole thing was just very impressive and made me really proud to be a kiwi. We really have some amazing people in this little country or ours”
“We have visited Truby Park in 2020, it was a wonderful experience. Loved the history, nature , fresh air. Beautiful flowers, good place to have a walk and chat and enjoy nature and history. This is also a good place for a picnic. Kids can play and have fun. Parking was easy to find.”
