Went to the locomotive yard before multiple times and been on their trips before great service, great people and great times would highly recommend to any train enthusiasts or anyone interested.
Suprised the nephew with a tour of the yard and was pleasantly suprised by the friendly, accommodating and passionate staff on site who showed us around and made his day. A must visit for any train enthusiasts.
Luckily for us our visit to the Paekakariki railway museum coincided with an open day at Steam Incorporated. Credit to the volunteers and Staff who run this as it would be an incredible shame to loose this timeless technology and equipment. It's place in civilisation, and building our nation is in good hands here. Enough palava, thank you for restoring and keeping these wonderful exhibits.
They are do excellent work on restoring and running mainline excursions around New Zealand... crew are very nice to be around as well...
This is one of New Zealand's leading preservation societies for railway relics from a bygone era. Friendly staff who are great to chat to and can tell you tales of the rails. Book a trip with them on one of their numerous excursions throughout the year and enjoy the experience of a bygone era. Attend one of their Open Days when one pops up. Definitely a great place to go. 10/10 :D

Extremely friendly staffmember was on his way home after closing up, but very kindly re-opened the shed and showen us around. What a privilege !!
Absolutely fantastic place, fantastic experiences, people who work for it, there open weekend, you could pay to drive a steam train, I mean doesn't get better than that!!, Their heritage trains are just simply amazing I highly recommend anything they offer, you won't regret it

Fantastic heritage railway. Staff and volunteers have done a magnificent job in restoring and running steam excursions. Highly recommend.
