   A hidden gem I just randomly got recommended by a local. The hike is at the edge of Wellington and offers amazing views over the city but also the surrounding landscape. On good days, it's even possible to see the mountains of the Southern Island of New Zealand. Strong recommendation for everyone who's staying only for a short time in Wellington and doesn't have the time to go on a hike in New Zealand's breathtaking nature.

   Really close to where I live, there's parking for walkers and cyclists, assuming courteous parking rather than random abandonment I've seen a few times! One way is the Skyline Walkway, heading towards Ōtari and the other, across the road, is one of the principal access points to the Mākara Peak Mountain Bike Park where I go walking and running most days! I love the place and pinch myself I live so close by!

   Beautiful walk for so close to the city. Not much difference in terrain the whole way except near the Karori end. Lots of beautiful views of Makara wind turbines and Wellington city. Has a couple really windy parts but overall a pleasant moderately easy walk for its length.

   Pleasant walking trial and not too far from Wellington. Good view and at times can be just hills around. Also be cautious about bikes on track. Overall good one. After the walk, you can drive to Makara beach as well

   A delightful track to have fun and work out if you are looking for some activities during the weekend. The views are awesome but in some roads and tracks you may feel boring because there are nothing but hills. Overall it's a great trail and it takes about 3hrs to complete the whole session.
