“The space is gorgeous and the staff was incredible, the service was very personal and warm. The food was incredible and unexpectedly flavoursome. We had dishes refreshungly unique and honestly the whole experience was amazing.”
“Beautiful villa restaurant tucked in between two high rise buildings. Came for WoW and absolutely loved the service, the staff were interesting in talking to us and very friendly. The food was exceptional - one of us had the set menu for WoW and two ordered off the menu (love that option).”
“Very nice fried chicken. Definitely recommend it.”
“Amazing experience for our Valentine's Day date! The set menu was excellent value and a stunning range of flavours. Good service and cozy atmosphere. Our only minor constructive feedback is we weren't aware of the set menu until we arrived. It wasn't an issue for us, however being proactively informed beforehand would have been appreciated :-). Thanks for an excellent meal - we'll be back!”
“I never do google reviews, but need to shout out this place badly. Food is amazing, service is out of this world and the BEST ice choc in wellies so far. Been coming here for a year and it’s my favourite breakfast spot EVER. Thank you guys for always feeding me”
“My friend wanted to try Concord out and having perused the menu online (who doesn’t) I was in like Flynn. We shared the pate entree that was delish. The only negative was the chargrilled toast tasted burnt. But the pate was sublime. My friend had the steak sandwich “rocking” was her review. I had the fish. This was outstanding. Cooked to perfection, a flavourful delicate butter sauce and fresh, Al dente asparagus. The best. The ambience was awesome and the service was great. Didn’t get the server’s name but she was a delight. Highly recommend.”
“Very tasty Korean Fried Chicken in Wellington. We ordered the original crispy chicken meal and the The Big Burger with volcano chicken. The crispy chicken is real crisp and super juicy. Love the spice level of the Volcano too. Well worth the trip for us as we came from Porirua seeking for a yummy korean fried chicken and they didn't disappoint. The burger is really good but a bit tricky to eat so can get a bit messy. The meal/combos are a good alternative for a single diner. Good portion size and their chips are real good as well.”
“Amazing service, the food was incredible and $2 coffee whaaaat 2 means and 2 coffees $50 we'll definitely be back.”
“5 star ⭐️ all around!! Service was excellent and food was delicious 10/10 recommend. Lots of parking, great value, friendly staff, and most importantly delicious food. Had takeaway too and always perfection”
“Had dinner there with my sons Not only Sunday kid free meal The food is very tasty too. Will definitely come back again.”
“I was visiting from Canada earlier in 2025 & met 2 gals, Jan and Jill at Cafe 180 Degrees. They were enjoying what seemed like a lovely breakfast. We chatted a bit from our tables & they invited me over. I loved the coffee and the egg dish which I ordered. Jan & Jill & I, then met once a week at Cafe & Bistro 180. I highly recommend the food there (loved the fish and Chips!) & will re-visit the Cafe the next time that I travel to N.Z. Sylvia”
“Excellent food and service by the whole team, thanks!”
“Food, Service and Atmosphere are amazing, all 5/5. Our waiter was attentive and very knowledgeable. He also clicked onto it being my birthday, and provided me with a Wood Fire Basque Cheesecake, on the house. It was so lovely! Definitely going back”
“I have been there a few times but the meals haven't really changed. Maybe it's about time they need to have a good look at the menu”
“Excellent, tasty and affordability food with excellent service. We had the chicken snitzel meal for $15 and if was so good that I wrote this review. The team tonight were on fire!”
““No gods or kings, only cocktails.” The vibes here are super chill—perfect if you’re after something more lowkey. The place seems inspired by fantasy themes and games, giving it a mystical feel. We arrived as a group of four around 10:00 pm on a Saturday. The person serving us was really lovely, taking the time to explain the different types of drinks they offer and happily answering our questions about specific liquors or custom requests. She also made some great recommendations. We ordered the White Witch, Banana Bread (brandy), Arkangel (gin), and The Last Word (I think that’s what it was called—Chartreuse-based). I especially enjoyed how fragrant the cocktails were, with the Banana Bread and Arkangel standing out. It was also cool to learn that they make a lot of their liquors and mixers in-house— including infused boozy cucumbers. We had a great time and really appreciated the hospitality. Would definitely love to visit again next time I’m in Wellington.”
“Margot has been our absolute favourite restaurant in Wellington for years now. The food is just always so delicious and never disappoints. The cocktail and wine menu is also always exciting and interesting. The spot itself is lovely and unassuming with attentive (but not overbearingly so) staff. These two vegetarians can't recommend it highly enough!”
“We had a lovely time dining at Rita. The service was very friendly, professional, and attentive. The restaurant is set in a cute narrow building and they make good use of the space. The design is minimalist. We enjoyed all our dishes. Portion sizes are on the smaller side, but you’re not coming here for quantity. It’s about the quality and pairing of the ingredients. You’ll still leave feeling full. Would easily recommend to anyone looking for something new and different. Note the menu changes regularly, I think even daily. Whatever is on the menu that day is what you’ll get. Great if you struggle to make decisions!”
“Friendly staff, fair prices. I loved the variety of crepes. I'd recommend the kiwi or chocolate one. It's also cool how you can watch them make it. I'll be coming here again ❤️”
“Best burger I've had in a long time! Can't recommend this place enough. I got the chicken burger and the chicken was so juicy, perfectly coated, with fresh salads. The chips came with this sauce that was sooooo good too. Everything was perfect and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Recommend giving this place a try!”
“I'm always a fan of going to restaurants located slightly outside the central city area. I tend to feel a sense of community and not to mention supporting local business. Prime spot in Brooklyn, and you won't miss it. To top it off, friendly service always helps. I felt the layout creates a different vibe through the restaurant, a nice touch. My personal favourite on the night was the prawn toasts, yummm and the chef's dessert of the night.”
“Fantastic and masterful! If you are looking for a unique, plant-forward dining experience, Hillside Kitchen is a must-visit. My husband and I enjoyed the ten-course (Menu B) tasting menu and non-alcoholic pairing. Every plate was beautifully presented, creative, and designed with thoughtful and perfectly curated flavor combinations. As a vegetarian, we truly appreciated how vegetables were showcased in such a celebratory and exciting way—each dish was a work of art, both visually and in taste. Beyond the food, the experience was fun and engaging. The staff are knowledgeable and passionate, taking the time to explain each dish, which made the meal even more intimate. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere added to the overall vibe. The experience felt special, yet relaxed. I highly recommend treating yourself and your favorite humans to Hillside Kitchen!”
“You look fore something special, this place is special. The location inside the Beehive is superb. The flair is just delightful, and then there is the food. The set menu was very, very nice. The flavors superb, the freshness and the combination of textures first class. This place is a notch better than the Logan Brown where it belongs to. And I do not know if I have found a better place in New Zealand so far. I will come back, for sure.”
“We had huge, delicious portions of pastas here. There’s a live pianist as well that created a lovely ambience as we enjoyed our meal.”
“Went to enjoy the pre-show dinner menu and was absolutely blown away. Fantastic price point $69. A chance to enjoy exceptional food in gorgeous surroundings with excellent staff. Will definitely make a point of going again next visit to Wellington.”
“One of the best (if not THE best) burger I've had in Wellington! And I've tried many. Also, ordering a fully plant-based option is super easy. They even have vegan milkshakes! Fully recommend it. I will keep coming back.”
“Incredible service and delicious food! All of the staff (especially the woman on the front till) were incredibly energetic, attentive, smiley and friendly. The food here is absolutely phenomenal - in particular, the waffles. For $25, the waffles were a great portion size, presented beautifully and was overall a 10/10 meal. It was like a churro in waffle form - super soft and chewy but still very light with that classic exterior cinnamon sugar crusted crisp that churros have. The plum mascarpone toned down the sweetness, the strawberries were a great addition and the maple syrup was the cherry on top. As I mentioned, the size of the waffles was very generous, and we still managed to finish them all as they were so fluffy and not dense whatsoever. The granola was really delicious and not like many others available in Wellington. Whilst also being presented beautifully, the house-made granola was abundant with chewy oats, sliced nuts, seeds and coconut, and was definitely binded with maple syrup which made it very soft, unlike typical granolas that are crunchy. I really liked this though - definitely one of the best granolas I have ever had. The sweetness was toned down by the greek yoghurt paired nicely with a berry jam, diced nectarine, sliced pear and maple syrup. They also offered milk on a side which was lovely. I did provide feedback to the waitstaff regarding the granola being a very minuscule portion which they very swiftly relayed to the chefs. The staff were very considerate and understanding, and ensured that I left satisfied. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Egmont St. Eatery and I would highly recommend that everyone tries their waffles. They were potentially the best waffles I have ever consumed in my life. I did find the cafe itself a little bit loud due to the music volume and conversing patrons, but that is more just of a personal preference. Awesome work team. I was very blown away with the hospitality you provided. Keep it up!”
“Will definitely come back again! Came here once because my friend recommended and now has become my favorite restaurant in welly. Staffs were friendly and great atmosphere to hang out with friends or family. The seats were almost filled around 20min after they open. Off street parkings are available around too. Love everything we order, especially the gnocchi with prosciutto! 3 people ordered 4 appetizers and a steak, very filling. Also the bacon marmalades on the bone marrow is yum!!”
