From past to present, an awesome display of stories, exhibits and information about the NZ police and some infamous incidents. Seeing some of the weapons on display, it gives you a new appreciation of what the police have to face everyday! The people that work here are lovely and there is also a cute little gift shop.
My brother and I visited the museum Wow it is so interesting, if your ever in Wellington and have some free time be sure to visit this Museum Oh and pick up some lovely gifts,the staff are very helpful, thank you NZ Police Museum.
This is a gem of a place, so interesting with a few laughs where you might not expect them. I loved the detailed case stories and display of handmade weapons!
This place is a hidden gem. Great place to take kids on a rainy day. Lots of activities for young and old. You can even playdress up and try on some genuine police attire. We visited on a rainy day in the school holidays and the place we pretty quiet.
Both ladies at the entrance were very nice, we talked about police work. The museum is beautiful, with interesting information, you can touch many things with your hands. We bought beautiful souvenirs - plush kiwi birds in police uniforms.
Went as a homeschooling trip. The presentation and activity was cool, and the museum had some interactive parts which were neat. The photo area, motorbike and fingerprinting were all highlights. Was hoping the museum would talk about the process of becoming a police officer, what different roles there are and what they deal with etc. Had quite a big focus on crime (homemade weapons wall, homicide photos, and specific events etc) which was too intense (I had a 3yo and 5yo there). Luckily my daughter's didn't look at these areas in detail. Reinforced I'd never want to be a cop, but really admire them for the work they do and what they have to deal with
Great place for a very informative outing today. The lady at the reception was very friendly to and guided us and gave all the extra info.
What an amazing experience! Really loved our visit at the NZ Police Museum. Lots of interactive activities and a variety of displays on the different things our police do. After our visit, we were filled with appreciation and gratitude for all our police does to keep NZ safe. Thank you.
It was really interesting with lots of interesting things to look at and read. I loved reading about the history of the New Zealand Police and seeing how things have changed. It's free to get into which is nice and wasn't busy when we went.
