“Saturnia is the standard by which all other tattoo shops are measured. Their love and dedication to the craft and to the industry in Aotearoa is simply unparalleled. It’s not only the private rooms, comfortable bathrooms, timely automated text reminders, and snacks, but also the enthusiasm, kindness, and professionalism that make Saturnia a truly world-class facility. Most importantly, it’s the shop where I’ve felt the most comfortable, a place that has embraced my strangest ideas and transformed them into some of the most excellent tattoos you’ll ever see.”

“Shout out to our planetarium guide at the 8:30 show last night (Wednesday Dec 3). Greeted us when we arrived. Shared his genuine enthusiasm for the stars and the mission of Space Place. The exhibits space is small/medium, but the quality was quite high and captures the teenagers with us (no small feat!) with the right level of engagement and knowledge share. You can easily spend a couple hours with the planetarium show. I live in Los Angeles and while Griffith Observatory is quite famous, the exhibit quality for kids, teens and adults is superior if you take the time to read the material and enjoy the video/interactive set ups.”

“Wētā Cave is a must-visit in Wellington for anyone interested in Hollywood movies and the magic behind them. The experience offers an incredible behind-the-scenes look at how iconic Hollywood films are brought to life, with detailed props, costumes, models, and displays showcasing the craftsmanship and creativity involved. Seeing the level of detail up close gives you a whole new appreciation for what goes into blockbuster filmmaking. The atmosphere is relaxed yet inspiring, and the staff are passionate and knowledgeable, happily sharing insights and stories from major film productions. It’s an easy and enjoyable stop while exploring Wellington or the Miramar area, and the overall experience feels immersive and well worth the ticket. “Wonderful space with 2 exhibitions on the ground floor. Entry by donation. The receptionist was very helpful, telling us the rules of entry and provided a brochure with information on the exhibits. Photos were allowed in the Pop Garden light show, but not in the portrait section. A small shop had some reasonably priced items for locals and tourists. The cafe was extremely busy.”

“A bonus that this restaurant is part of the hotel we’re staying in. Great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, absolutely delicious food. Steak and chips, cook exactly how we asked, accompanied by truffle butter. Chicken Tikka, with a trip of dips, accompanied by garlic naan, and rice. Not too spicy (perfect for those who don’t like spice) my favourite dip was the tzatziki style. Kids meals come with a drink and dessert. Mac and cheese, perfect size for for kids, my son enjoyed it but I through it was too cheesy. Ice cream sundae was very cute, 1 single scoop with marshmallows, sprinkles and wafers. Forgot to take photo before we started eating so here is what we got”

“QT Wellington is a fantastic stay. The service is warm and genuinely friendly, especially the team at the restaurant, which makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The location couldn’t be better — just across from Te Papa museum and right in the heart of Wellington’s vibrant waterfront. I also loved the artsy atmosphere throughout the hotel, from the lobby, the bar to the rooms, which gives the place so much character. A great choice if you want both comfort and a creative vibe.”

“Perfect location close to Cuba Street, Te Papa and the waterfront. We stayed for 3 nights in a one bedroom apartment which was great so my partner could sleep while I watched TV or was on my tablet. Great having an oven and the bonus of the washing machine. Even though we checked in late and out early and there was no one at reception at the time there was a back up which was perfect. The staff were pleasant and helpful in any dealings we had with them. Would highly reccomend.”

“I stay in Wellington a lot and I think this the best hotel I've stayed in. Everything was just perfect; the drop off and pick up area, the access to the main street, the room, the bed, the amount of milk and coffee, the shower pressure. Even the breakfast options at Sierra cafe were perfect. Will stay here from now on.”

“Great place to stay for a few days. To have a kitchen and laundry machines was very useful. Good walkable location to a variety of restaurants. Staff were very helpful, even lent me an umbrella for the wet weather. I had only one issue, and that was the door to my room would move when the next room open and close their door. So it sounded like someone was trying to open my room door. Was a bit unsettling. Overall it was a very good place.”
