A must see in wellington. Peaceful place where we can contemplate all the beauty of the city. Amazing sea view!
Must see visit when in Wellington, easy drive to top. (If you have car). Great views, and also captured a Tui in the gardens.
Cool little place in Wellington. I visited this place quite a few times now. This time went with my parents. Last time I visited with my family and kid. Great 360 degrees view of Wellington. If the timing works, you can see an airplane taking off or landing at the Wellington airport. Great view of the harbor and waterfront. Must visit.
I visited the Mount Victoria Lookout, which sits at the highest point in Wellington, and the experience was truly breathtaking. From one side, you get a stunning view of the endless sea, and from the other, the entire Wellington city opens up beautifully beneath you. You can even watch planes landing and taking off at the airport—it’s a mesmerizing sight from that height. The lookout also features photos showing how Wellington has evolved from the early 1900s to today, which adds a lovely historical touch to the visit. Overall, it’s one of the finest places to explore with family, offering unforgettable views and a calming atmosphere.
This lookout at about 200m above sea level provides 360 degree views of Wellington city and harbour. You can get up there by car, like we did or use public transport. There's ample free parking about. Very popular place, lots of tourists and locals. When we went early in the morning, the fog affected visibility and so we returned later in the morning for more photos. Uneven terrain, lot of walking and stairs to get to the upper viewing levels. Not crowded, some tourists and a number of locals exercising and walking. Free entry. Great place for photography, if the weather is kind. Lovely place for picnic.
Nice lookout that you can either reach via a nice walk through the forest or via car. Parking and restrooms are available nearby. Ideally you want to try and be there when it is decent weather. If it is windy, definitely bring wind-proof jackets because you will literally be blown away up there.
It’s a cool stop if you like cities. I didn’t particularly care for it. It may be because we drove to the top versus hiked up to the top. Hiking to the top will make this all the more worth it.
