“Shout out to our planetarium guide at the 8:30 show last night (Wednesday Dec 3). Greeted us when we arrived. Shared his genuine enthusiasm for the stars and the mission of Space Place. The exhibits space is small/medium, but the quality was quite high and captures the teenagers with us (no small feat!) with the right level of engagement and knowledge share. You can easily spend a couple hours with the planetarium show. I live in Los Angeles and while Griffith Observatory is quite famous, the exhibit quality for kids, teens and adults is superior if you take the time to read the material and enjoy the video/interactive set ups.”
“Logan was very good at leading the tour and the whole thing was just very impressive and made me really proud to be a kiwi. We really have some amazing people in this little country or ours”
“I have had the privilege of both of my children attending Montessori Children's House for their preschool years (3-6). Both children left Montessori for primary school with amazing foundations in reading, writing and maths. Not only this, but the environment and opportunities that Montessori provides to be creative, sporty and to explore nature and science, has been instrumental in allowing my children to become well rounded and ready for the world. The facilities are fantastic and the teaching team and management are supportive, kind and caring. The children and I found it very difficult to leave when it came time for primary school.”
“The best playgroup in Wellington! Karen, the coordinator is just lovely and it feels like coming home each week.”
“We initially chose All About Children Naenae because it was a smaller centre and had a nice large outdoor space compared to our previous centre. It was OK when we started but we did have a few doubts that we had made the right move. Since the new centre management has come in it feels more organised and structured and we feel really happy with our decision. The staff have been awesome especially over the COVID-19 lockdown and the communication has been excellent.”
“We had a fantastic time doing the Atlantis room. It was challenging enough with a good variety of different puzzles. Very interactive which was fun. The experience was made even better by our host - we forget his name but he is from Argentina. He was so kind and passionate and made sure we left with some fun photos and knowledge of how some of the puzzles work! Thank you.”
“Welly’s newest mini-golf. Really has to be seen to be believed. A mind bending combination of craft, sport, art school project, and wholesome entertainment. A clear labour of love. Check it out and give some support.”
“Hi just adding a review for Pridelands holiday programm Moses and his team are awesome, i have twins (teenagers)that go to their holiday day programms and have done for a few years now. Both boys enjoy being there. Lots of fun activities, burning off all the boredom with much to do there. My boys have ADHD and very much on the go 24/7, Pridelands have been wonderful with them. We recommend Pridelands Holiday Programm.”
“A nice walkway next to the wharf that provides nice views of the harbor, and leads to a nice happening area with various restaurants, bars, and high end shops. The walk is flat and easy so can be managed by anyone with basic fitness, however it’s windy in general and in a windy day it gets slightly challenging to walk. The walk from the parking lot at this location to the shops is 1.6 KM / 1 mile. Walking from the parking lot to the other end will take at least 30 minutes with plenty of stops around monuments on the way.”
“Wonderful new cafe, lots of animals and variety of landscapes such as streams, waterfalls, hills. Well worth visiting though take care on the narrow road to Staglands.”
“What a jewel for Upper Hutt! So many activities for kids of all ages and abilities. Great variety of safe, interesting, visual & tactile activities for those with sensory issues and easy access, smooth paths to navigate prams, strollers & wheelchairs - though watch out when near the skate ramps! For the more ambitious & rambunctious there are climbing, jumping, balancing & strength activities. Truly something for everyone”
“A great theatre for medium size productions”
“It was really interesting with lots of interesting things to look at and read. I loved reading about the history of the New Zealand Police and seeing how things have changed. It's free to get into which is nice and wasn't busy when we went.”
“Great garden magics with live music organised every January”
“OMG what a beautiful place... such a great vibe here.... Fab views....Great walks & very good for dog walkers too..”
“Had a wonderful time here with my little man while in Wellington. Access is free but donations are requested. They had the cardboard town set up so we went in one of the tunnels to play. They also have a reading corner, colouring/art area, and photo booth ($2). Coffee for parents is available for $3. We will go again next time we are in Wellington!”
“This is a great park, lots of open space, used for events like summer soccer and various shows. Public toilets, a decent playground and the location of the Uppet Hutt cricket club. Generally easy to find a park around the side streets if you can't find one on the main road.”
“Love this venue! Held my daughter’s fourth birthday here and there was plentiful room for party games and adults attending. Kitchen and facilities are great and tidy. Will 100% be booking here again!”
“Such a big play area ..skate park as well .. specially after school..if kids wanted to play more ..water tap and toilets very handy”
“The Maori Sidesteps were wonderful. Great music, great comedy and some important messages to top it off.”
“Always a great experience. It makes me feel like I’m back in a 90’s movie theatre.”
“A wonderful theatre experience. The building and it's decor are breathtaking. The staff were friendly and helpful. The show was excellent. It was an unplanned night out but what a night!”
“Wētā Cave is a must-visit in Wellington for anyone interested in Hollywood movies and the magic behind them. The experience offers an incredible behind-the-scenes look at how iconic Hollywood films are brought to life, with detailed props, costumes, models, and displays showcasing the craftsmanship and creativity involved. Seeing the level of detail up close gives you a whole new appreciation for what goes into blockbuster filmmaking. The atmosphere is relaxed yet inspiring, and the staff are passionate and knowledgeable, happily sharing insights and stories from major film productions. It’s an easy and enjoyable stop while exploring Wellington or the Miramar area, and the overall experience feels immersive and well worth the ticket. The store is also a highlight, packed with unique collectibles and memorabilia. If you love Hollywood films or creative storytelling, Wētā Cave is an experience you shouldn’t miss”
“Outstanding garden with really beautiful flowers. The walkways are clean and easily accessible. Many of the flowers are from the Southern Hemisphere and so for visitors from the rest of the world, it's a really unique experience. Special mention for the bees and birds who aren't really that afraid of humans. A must visit of you love flowers.”
“Recently went to the Wellington Museum, first time in a few years. The exhbits were great, very comprehensive in thier information and many of them were quite fun and engaging. The more somber or serious topics were really well presented.”
“Big long finned eel by the lower bridge today. A nice sheltered picnic spot with toilets, a shelter, and bbqs for public use.”
“A large and very scenic park. Great for picnics, a run, dog walkings and walking in the bus”
“A superb park, well laid out with great planning. The planting attracts birds of all types including the rowdy Tui. Great water features. Plenty of spacious parking and electric car charging posts. Toilets suffer from vandals but usable”
