A truly special experience. Space Place is fascinating for kids and adults alike, with interactive exhibits that spark curiosity and imagination. The planetarium show was a real highlight. Staff were welcoming and great with kids, and the gift shop had some very cool science-themed items. A unique and memorable visit.

Shout out to our planetarium guide at the 8:30 show last night (Wednesday Dec 3). Greeted us when we arrived. Shared his genuine enthusiasm for the stars and the mission of Space Place. The exhibits space is small/medium, but the quality was quite high and captures the teenagers with us (no small feat!) with the right level of engagement and knowledge share. You can easily spend a couple hours with the planetarium show. I live in Los Angeles and while Griffith Observatory is quite famous, the exhibit quality for kids, teens and adults is superior if you take the time to read the material and enjoy the video/interactive set ups.

Such a dirt cheep price for an incredible experience. Funny and kind staff, incredible museum, the viewings are WICKED! with included telescope viewings on certan days! Highly recomend as a family event or even by yourself. The gift shop is also very cool.

We had an incredible time at Carter Observatory in Wellington! This place is a must-visit, especially for kids aged 10+. The staff were super friendly, knowledgeable, & really added to our experience. We loved learning about the stars & even got to try out some cool interactive displays. The only downside was some of the other families letting their kids get a bit too rowdy – throwing balls, climbing on displays, & hogging activities while others waited. A bit of supervision would go a long way! Despite that, we had a blast & even put our newfound knowledge to the test at home with the "Find South Trick." when we got home. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a fun and educational experience!"

A small but compact display of the history and wonders of the space, the interactive features are great for the kids.

Have wanted to visit Space Place while also enjoying the cable car, was elated when I saw that a combo was available for only $20. It even included a show at the planetarium! The host in the planetarium was fun-loving and had a really soothing voice in terms of presenting. Would highly recommend going into one of the shows.

I visited a few years ago and it was awesome. Unfortunately I didn't book in advance and had to wait until the next exhibit but walking around the beautiful garden was the perfect way to spend my time while waiting. It was informative and the interactive parts of the observatory were fun. Great for kids, and the adults can enjoy it too. I definitely recommend checking it out.

I visited on a cloudless evening so was able to have a look through the 150 year old telescope as well as the planetarium show. The exhibition is interesting, more geared to a younger audience, but lots of info about Kiwi contributions to astronomy and space exploration.

Interesting place, which can be found within the botanical gardens. Has plenty of information throughout. Good place to have a wonder. There is an entrance fee. A great place to bring kids. A worthwhile place to visit.
