I went 23 primary school children."It was amazing", "I loved the massive, green lawns", "The carvings and Art was cool", "the chandeliers in the Ballroom were amazing". These were comments from the children. We had an amazing tour guide. Well worth visiting if you get a chance
Beautiful house with an interesting history, amazing rooms all wonderfully restored and with fantastic NZ art and furniture. Richard our tour guide was great - so informative, passionate about the place and had so many interesting stories and facts to share. A great way to spend an afternoon - highly recommend
After a recent visit for an investiture ceremony I decided I needed to bring the family back and we came back today to do the tour. It was outstanding. Informative in a fun way. Kids CAPTIVATED! The tour guide (Richard?) was the perfect person for this job. So much animation but not over the top.
First timer to Government House despite being a local. It is a free tour and you can book online to see the grounds and house that the Governor General lives in. Guide was very knowledgeable. The house has a lot of NZ art and gifts from other countries. Well worth a visit.
Wonderful visit and fantastic experience. You can learn a lot of history and at the same time enjoy the tour.

Lovely investiture ceremony. Great to see some fine New Zealanders receiving awards for their service Very special that our Governor General, The Rt Hon Dame Cindy Kiro and her husband took the time to individually greet all the guests present
It's a amazing place to visit especially the tour guide Heather was professional and patient.
Heather greeted us with a warm cup of tea and a friendly chat whilst waiting for the rest of the visitors to arrive. Really informative guide, little gem like stories and relaxing tone. Language was easygoing yet informative. Lucky to have access to such a beautiful house and grounds.
