I recently visited the Brooklyn Wind Turbine and decided to do the 6 km walk instead of driving. It took me around 5 hours to reach the top because I stopped often to enjoy the beautiful nature, viewpoints, and take plenty of photos along the way. There are many nice spots to rest and grab a quick snack, so I took my time. The walk back down took only about 2 hours. The track itself is not too hard more like a small hike. If you’re used to walking or hiking, it’s quite manageable. But if you’re not very experienced or don’t usually walk long distances, you might find it a bit tough on your legs and knees. The scenery is amazing surrounded by native trees, birdlife, and some great views of Wellington city and the harbour. On a windy day, it can be quite an experience as the trees make a roaring sound in the strong wind, which adds to the wild atmosphere. Cyclists share the same track as the walkers, while cars have to take the main road route to the top. So it’s a great spot whether you enjoy hiking, cycling, or just driving up for the view. Overall, it’s a beautiful and refreshing walk with plenty of nature, great views, and peaceful surroundings definitely worth a visit.

Interesting place that would have great views on a nice day. Plenty of walks from the car park

Great views, worth the narrow winding drive up. Surprisingly noisy when the turbine is spinning. Plenty of parking. No toilets.

A great spot to visit. Although the weather was rough, the drive up the hill was fine, and the Wind Turbine was incredible. Such an amazing feat of engineering. One of the many free sightseeing things to do in Wellington.

Very good experience to feel the fresh wind and air. Very nice driving experience to the top of the hill. One draw back is there is no toilets. There is enough parking and the entry is free of cost.

Worth visiting. Have to walk for almost 2km through residential areas. Its very nice and calm. Pick a sunny day, pack a light bag and pay your visit. Better to wear a hiking shoes since the trail is bit slippery. There’s another route you can come by a vehicle. Cycling path also there. The chilling vibe at the top and the view is breathtaking. No need to take tickets. Its free.
