“This place has been around for years use to walk past in my teens and use to order takeaways in my younger adult days. Now in my 40s we visited from Christchurch recently and stopped in for dinner, and owner was there and greeted us (swear she hasn’t aged). Food was delicious and plentiful we couldn’t eat it all so took some home. Support your local restaurant and this lovely family from the Hutt”

“Great value of my money! The big size can easily feed two ppl. Batter fish is fresh and crunchy. If you want to eat healthy, choose broccoli and pan-fried chicken. If you like spicy, don’t forget the chilly oil which is the game changer.”

“I used to skip this restaurant because of its low rating, but it completely surprised me — I was wrong! This is my second time trying their dim sum, and I felt compelled to write a review. The portions are generous with plenty of fillings, and everything tastes fresh and absolutely delicious. The salted egg yolk custard bun is a must-try, and the polo char siew bun were tasty. We just came back to New Zealand after 3 years and were thrilled to see the same happy and kind customer service, incredible quality and speedy meal production. “A hidden gem right in the heart of the city. You’ll miss it easily as it sits on the 1st floor and only noticeable from the menu and sign board which leads you up a flight of stairs. This place has been around for such a long time and it used to be a haunt with my mates during our uni days which was a couple of decades ago! A great selection of food and they don’t disappoint. What I’m impressed is that the consistency is still the same from day 1 and portion sizing is generous. They have a toilet available but you’ll need a key behind the counter and it comes with a super large keychain! Since nothing much has changed, the place is slightly run down and would definitely benefit from a little makeover.”

I order a burguer was all meat, chicken very Juicy and of quality I was surprised to be a honest. I think will eat more here. Very affordable but is mostly sandwiches and burgers. Oh and breakfast. Coffee looks very well done. The burguer was 12nzd and you can add for 7 nzd the can and the chips. I think I enter one time and just didn't though much for the looks so I tho hmm may be not. But now that I actually eat here all looks lovely and fresh. Looks like a very vintage Cafe. I'm very happy to give this place an opportunity.”

“Celebrated my sisters bday here as a first table and the service was 12/10 probably the best we have ever had. Even tho we arrived late and asked to take leftovers, the waiter was super hospitable. The waiter was super kind the food was really good too the club sandwich being a highlight.”

“This is the best Sushi place in Pōneke! Amazing fresh options. If not made, you can request an 8pc of many types, something for everyone. Katsu bowl is tasty, large, very fresh, and great value (especially compared to competitors). They offer $10 off for every 10 stamps on a card (1 stamp= $10) so if you go frequently it is basically 10% off. Staff are extremely helpful, kind, and friendly. Would definitely recommend if you want to support a local business while getting amazinh service and a great deal for yourself too!”

“Finely crafted food and a great selection of umeshu from Japan. The contemporary styled Japanese inspired dining really worked well. One bite into each dish was delightful marriage of flavours. It is obvious to me the chef had put much thought and really crafted each dish to perfection, the delicious, umami flavours, tantalizing all the taste buds. But my highlight of the night had to be the maître d offering us some newly imported umeshu from Japanese at the end. The icing on the cake for a truly delightful dining experience”
