   Masala dosa was good but chole tikka chaat was the worst starter, we ever had in New Zealand. It like stuffed potatoes running in over flooded sauces lolol and hardly found any chole. Front staff should let chef makes the dish instead of doing by herself and make it terribly tasteless.

   I’ve been a regular customer at Spice Traders and have enjoyed their food many times. The staff are generally okay. However, one thing I’ve noticed is the inconsistency in food preparation — especially with non-veg dishes, which can occasionally be overcooked or undercooked. Overall, it’s a good spot for a meal if you’re not super hungry or expecting something quick and tasty

   I asked for a dish that should be moderately spicy, and they put twice as much spice to the point that it was almost impossible to eat because of the spice. I mean, they did it on purpose. Terrible customer service. Maybe the owner doesn't realize that he could go bankrupt if he doesn't hire better staff! I have friends from India who have eaten here too, and they say the food is nothing like authentic Indian food.

   I was very disappointed with the quality and taste of food. I ordered the ‘Vegetable combo’ with Kadai Paneer as the veg curry and paid extra to upgrade the plain naan to a cheese and garlic naan (garlic naan not available). The curry was tasteless and watery. The dish did not have onion or capsicum pieces in the gravy as you would expect in Kadai Paneer. It was essentially just tasteless paneer in coloured water. The naan, although generous in portion size, was not cooked properly and was tasteless as well. I would not recommend this place.

   So disappointing. It was the worst experience ever. I tried butter chicken, there were two small pieces of chicken in it. It was like soup. I went back and asked if this amount is right and she said yes. I paid 15$ for 2 small pieces of chicken soup not for butter chicken . The taste was the terrible as well, so I left more than half. never go again

   I ordered a chicken curry which was clearly labelled 'Chicken Tikka Masala'. Except it wasn't chicken. It was tofu. I took it back and told them it was soy, not chicken and they told me I was wrong, it was chicken. It absolutely was not. They fought me on it relentlessly, telling me it's fine and that I was wrong. Eventually the chef came out looking sheepish and looked it the curry, but they never removed the mislabelled curry from the shelf. It's obvious they had tried to cut corners and substitute tofu for chicken. If it had been genuine error they would have been receptive- maybe shocked even, and they would have removed the product off the shelf and dealt with the situation. But there was no apology, just gaslighting, and eventually after I was clearly not going away, they replaced my food. It's a breach of our food labeling laws to mislabel food. I am hopeful this business gets investigated before a soy allergy puts someone in hospital.

   Best experience I have ever had with customer service. Hands down. Ever. Got a butter chicken combo for eat in, and got a huge portion that I needed to go back and get a take away container. The lady in front of me got it take away and it’s clear you get much more food doing eat in. The man who served me was absolutely delightful! I loved the sauce of the butter chicken so much, I asked if I could pay for extra. He said that they didn’t really do that, but gave me a cheeky scoop of sauce because I asked so nicely. Absolutely made my day! I couldn’t stop grinning. I won’t be forgetting this soon. I guess it really does pay to be kind

   Should have read reviews before going here. Ended up with food poisoning from the paneer masala, which tasted better coming up than it did going down. Tried to call 30mins before closing but no answer, apparently they closed early. Poor hygiene practices, cook handed a naan with his bare hands and gave me a weird look.
