“Absolutely amazing! Emailed a couple of questions before coming and the replies were very quick and helpful. Service was amazing. The food, MY GOD THE FOOD, by far the best lamb dish I've had in wellington. Comes with these onions in a sauce that is just devine. 10/10 will be back again. “Finely crafted food and a great selection of umeshu from Japan. The contemporary styled Japanese inspired dining really worked well. One bite into each dish was delightful marriage of flavours. It is obvious to me the chef had put much thought and really crafted each dish to perfection, the delicious, umami flavours, tantalizing all the taste buds. But my highlight of the night had to be the maître d offering us some newly imported umeshu from Japanese at the end. The icing on the cake for a truly delightful dining experience”

“Simply the best restaurant I have been to, food was beautiful both in taste and visually. The story made it a much fuller experience, with even the music chosen to supplement this. Waiters were also fabulous. Booked to return the same evening, just a shame we have to wait until April, can’t wait for the next tale and food journey!”

“Saturday lunchtime was an awesome quiet chill vibe for us to have a Japanese Meetup event. Karaage Tofu Poke bowl was delicious! And one of the servers was vegan so she helped with some recommendations. Tried the Umeshu Plum wine tasting platter and it was oishiiiiii desu! Worth a visit anytime for lunch or dinner during the week, weekend. Highly recommended.”

“I've been to a lot of the sushi places around Wellington, and IMO Domo Sushi is one of the best. The staff are always very friendly and talkative, the sushi tastes really nice and is well presented, and they have some good flavours which you would t find at the other sushi stores. This place also feels quite a bit more authentic than the other sushi stores around.”

You can also order online and it only took 5min for my order to be ready :) Just an FYI I got the kimchi bowl which is the only bowl that doesn’t include steamed rice which I didn’t notice.”
