The service was fabulous and the food came out quickly. It felt like an upmarket type of menu but that didn't reflect in the food. The setting could do with some livening up.
I stayed at ibis for a night with my family 2 adults and 2 kids, I had dinner at vivant restaurant, food delayed byv1 hours , very poorly manged service team , they took our food to wrong table, I spend more than $200 in total, not great taste and very small quantity, I would recommend a better chef and a good manager, and I notice lot of public use the restroom, not sure why the hotel allows that, but my feedback is about the food, extremely disappointed, with the quality and quantity of food and service and never recommend to any one I know, please don't waste your money there are so many great restaurants to try. And since I stayed in ibis I got free breakfast which is not great. But you are a bacon on bread or cereal person it will work. Staff at reception are great but my overall experience at the vivant restaurant is terrible so please don't waste your money. You either get some food from supermarket or try great restaurants like dragon fly
Yesterday I tried woap burger. Taste was good but oil tubes were finished so spoiled the bun color and mood as I was excited for that. Veg patty was broken before having any bite so one burger was messy.
The service was very slow, I ordered a steak well done and was rare they did however make me a new steak but didn't give me back my fries that I was still eating which I am disappointed by. Also there isn't gluten free alternatives for pasta or burgers or most of their dishes mostly only salads that was gf as the chips weren't either which again was disappointing the price is incredibly high for what you get especially when you don't get half your chips back so ur mostly eating just a steak for dinner

Terrible! Bad service and even worse food. One of our party became violently ill a few hours after eating at Vivant. We ate at the restaurant because our party of seven were staying in the hotel and we arrived late in the evening. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, but we were warned to avoid ordering the steaks as they would take longer. The main menu lacked vegetarian options, our server advised only soup was vegetarian. We asked for the grab and go menu, which had a few more items. We ordered and then waited and waited and waited some more. We waited well over 90 minutes for the food to arrive. Most of us received partial orders and then had to wait for another 20 minutes for the rest of our food. We were told once by the manager that they had dropped some of our food, which was partly responsible for the delay and the comped our non-alcoholic drinks. I found the lasagna quite bad. The sauce was unseasoned and reminded me of canned tomato purée. Additionally, one of our guests became very sick that night from what we suspect was food poisoning.
They have a good selection for a buffet breakfas; from hot item, cereals to pastries. For dinner, they have limited options available but still good ones. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Celebrated my sisters bday here as a first table and the service was 12/10 probably the best we have ever had. Even tho we arrived late and asked to take leftovers, the waiter was super hospitable. The waiter was super kind the food was really good too the club sandwich being a highlight.
We stayed in the ibis hotel and it's in the hotel So we had dinner not to bad good stake and wife said her salad of vegetables was good
Vivant restuarant is located inside the Ibis Hotel on Featherston St in Wellington. This spacious setting has pleadant decor and surroundings. The food was very good, well presented and quite reasonably priced given the location in Wellington's CBD. The service was professional, prompt and polite. I enjoyed my dining experience there and would be keen to return to try out some of the rest of their menu (I had the WOAP burger entry, which was excellent). I would recommend this place to friends and family.
