The set menu offers good-quality food with well-thought-out selections. The staff are able to explain the dishes, though they could be more confident overall. Beverage options are slightly limited compared to the strength of the food menu. That said, considering the price point and the overall quality of the food and dining experience, Iโ€™m happy to give this restaurant a 5-star rating.

We went to Koji for a special birthday dinner and it was absolutely outstanding. The food was packed with flavour, every plate was stunningly presented and the staff were top notch. We came away feeling like we had experienced a very special meal and would recommend this to anyone looking for something unique and delicious. The Wagyu and lemongrass dumplings with sour chilli sauce were incredible, so fresh and flavourful. The yellow curry beef donuts were so so yummy, such a memorable dish. We loved it all, thanks so much for having us team!

Finely crafted food and a great selection of umeshu from Japan. The contemporary styled Japanese inspired dining really worked well. One bite into each dish was delightful marriage of flavours. It is obvious to me the chef had put much thought and really crafted each dish to perfection, the delicious, umami flavours, tantalizing all the taste buds. But my highlight of the night had to be the maรฎtre d offering us some newly imported umeshu from Japanese at the end. The icing on the cake for a truly delightful dining experience

Our new Welly fav! We had an amazing weekend lunch at Koji for my husbands birthday which was our first and definitely not the last visit to this friendly passionate team of foodies. We are both gluten and dairy free which can make eating out a bit hit and miss. Our dietary requirements were not an issue at all here and we had the most amazing nine course chef's choice experience. The food was incredible - the mix of textures and flavours in each dish make my mouth water just remembering them. The great thing about chefs choice meals is that you get to try things you might not otherwise experience which is half the fun. Favourites were the battered cauliflower in strange sauce - crunchy, chewy, moist melt in your mouth with a sticky sauce. I loved the raw fish dish we started with, and the juicy baked aubergine with seaweed, black sesame and pepitas. The textures and flavours were just devine. Can so recommend coming here for a fabulous experience. We loved the booths and that we weren't packed in with other diners so we could enjoy the experience and actually hear each other. So often tables are packed in and you have no privacy. Can highly recommend visiting the team at Koji.

We ordered the chef favorite 9 courses. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was really prompt. One of us was pescaterian, she got a great variety of options too. The only reason why atmosphere comes with 4 star is that the restaurant is quite loud.

Doesn't let me give a 4.5 unfortunately. Service outstanding (all waitresses were super friendly and attentive). Food is absolutely delicious, very creative and full of unique flavours. Downsides - it was very noisy, some dishes were barely warm, and it is rather expensive (was $200 for the two of us including 1 drink each) especially considering we both left still hungry.. Would still recommend people try it as the food is something you won't find anywhere else.

We had the "just feed me" set menu and every dish was a hit. We wanted to order double! We especially loved the beef donuts, venison pies, and the oysters. The staff were kind and knowledgeable. Definitely a must-eat when in Wellington.

Second time I've been here, first time was in May for my birthday, and we had to come back a second time for x-mas. Nailed it both times, I have a mix of photos from first time and this time (I'm terrible when it comes to taking photos). Food is exceptional, we had to order 2 portions of the eggplant this time around, its that exceptional. Everything is well seasoned, balanced and cooked perfectly, just to touch on the eggplant (obviously my favorite) the flesh inside is still firm but soft, most places I've been either overcook or undercook the eggplant. Service has been great both times, they even allowed us to store a cake which was being taken down to Christchurch while we had our dinner. Very accommodating! Will be back again.
