“Great spot. Rooms are dark and cozy. Comfy beds. Great in-room amenities incl free drinks and snacks. Ice machine and laundry facilities available for guests on level 3. Friendly service. Location is handy to vibrant Cuba Street with plenty of eateries near the hotel.”

“From the moment Fi showed my partner and I around Waipuna, we knew it was where we wanted to get married. Fi was warm, bubbly, and hilarious—she made us feel instantly comfortable and genuinely excited. Sarah was just as amazing, keeping everything running smoothly with her quick replies and eye for detail. The day itself was more perfect than we could’ve hoped for. The staff were lovely, the setting was stunning, and our guests couldn’t stop telling us how much they loved Fi (and her generous drink pours) and how beautiful the venue was. Being able to stay on-site the night before and after made everything so much easier, especially with setting up and packing down. I felt so calm on the day, knowing Fi and Sarah had everything under control. Everyone was blown away by the views, and our florals (done in-house by Katrin) were absolutely gorgeous. Waipuna was the perfect wedding venue for us—we couldn’t recommend it more!”

“Absolutely beautiful little retreat, the rooms are the perfect size for a couples getaway, the views are incredible and the best part was the hot tub at night with the stars and one of the best wines we have tasted. We feel refreshed and renewed. Lots of extra details that made this place such a gem, from Bluetooth connectivity throughout the room to the luxury bathroom and of course the super comfy bed. “Absolute fantastic value for money at the Darfield Motel. Friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. We stayed for four nights and wish we could have stayed longer. Spacious, warm and wonderfully clean rooms. Well equipped kitchenette. Walking distance to the amazing bakery and other places to eat. Thank you Darfield Motel for a warm welcome and perfect stay. “The management and staff of Stay at Mission Bay are very professional and respond immediately to issues and/or requests. The rooms are well appointed, very clean and comfortable. All creature comforts have been considered by the hosts and it makes a significant difference to your stay. Free on-site parking is available but the location is very close to lovely Mission Bay beach and restaurants etc that you don't need a car as you can walk, and just a further few minutes walk along the esplanade, you can reach Kohi Beach and St Heliers Bay. Public transport is just across the road to all places of interest including the aquarium, museums, the CBD and more. Our stay was fantastic and the accommodation is well worth the money spent and certainly as good or better quality than a 4-star hotel. I highly recommended Stay at Mission Bay due to its location, exceptional hosts and management and will definitely return on my next visit.”

“Thank you Chet and Steve of being a very good and lovely hosts. Very good stay, the room is cosy, clean and comfortable. They have small little pantry in the room itself - coffee, tea, water and a kettle to boil water. Toilet amenities are also provided. And I like the surrounding garden with planted apples, pears, plums, lavenders and so many others. Walking distance to the nearby cafes and restaurants, and 15km to the Christchurch international airport. As my flight is very early, so I don’t have chance to have the breakfast, which I really love to do it in my next visit again.”

“Amazing Freedom camping ground with fantastic facilities. For people staying in tents you can stay here for 2 nights in a row max. For Self Contained it’s 4. We arrived around 5pm and the site was very quiet, assuming the weather had hampered a lot of people’s camping adventures. Very clean and well maintained areas. Everyone here on the night we stayed were very respectful of each others space These grounds have a KiwiCamp pod where you can use a kiwiCash tag to make full use of the facilities, which include: Hot Showers, Laundry, cleaning sinks and electric cooking. You can use the toilets free of charge and there is a basic Sink and Out Tap on the side of the pod. There’s even picnic benches scattered around where you can pitch next too. And a few undercover benches too! 100% recommend this location, will hopefully get the chance to come back.”

“Friendly hosts. Lovely quiet accommodation close to shops. We stayed 2 nights in the studio which is lovely and has everything you need. Unfortunately our stay was unplanned as we attended a tangi so didn’t get to experience much of the relaxing environment. We will definitely be back.”

“We had a wonderful stay at the Seascape Villa B&B! David and Tatiana are super welcoming and friendly, they greeted us upon arrival, showed around the place and provided great local recommendations for dining and exploring the area. Our room had a great view, and was top notch comfortable and clean. The breakfast was exceptionally good and included crepes, fresh fruit, yoghurt, a selection of jams, cheese and ham, cereal and eggs. Overall, would highly recommend staying with Tatiana and David while you are in the area!”

“We just had our wedding at Eagle Ridge and were lucky enough to stay at the Homestead for 2 nights. I cannot recommend Eagle Ridge highly enough. The accommodation was absolutely next level! We felt so special staying there with our family and friends. The views were stunning, the grounds were beautiful and it was an absolute dream. For the wedding it was so nice being able to turn up and everything was pretty much done for you, nothing was too big or too small for the staff. They handled everything with complete professionalism. The food was delightful, everybody raved about how delicious the food was. And I cannot recommend highly enough the venue, Deborah and her incredible staff.”

“Excellent hike, bit of a drive to get there but the views are worth it! Some notes - Parking is limited and entrance is free. Toilets by the parking area, but water is untreated. BYO snacks and rehydration. Early mornings are great however, rain and wet grass and several muddy patches will require better hiking equipment, waterproof hiking boots and even hiking gear. Watch out for slippery slopes, muddy paths and cow pies. Livestock roaming between fences and gates, please respect property boundaries, keep gates and fences closed. Farm animals generally ignore you as you pass by, and a few disgruntled cows did reluctantly trod away. Weather permitting, rainy days offer no shelter out on this hike, hot sunny days would be perfect. Not all picnic tables are clean, the ducks do kinda get around... The views are absolutely worth it. Two thumbs up!!”
