   We LOVED our recent stay at Riverside for 3 nights. The location is fabulous with gorgeous walks in the Gorge just across the road and wonderful bike trails nearby. Anita is very helpful, and the vibe is lovely and friendly. The rooms are a little dated but very comfortable. The shared kitchen and lounge were clean and welcoming. Great value. Thank you Riverside!

   Pros: Great location, friendly owners, close to all the trails in Karangahake Cons: Rooms had a very bad smell that wouldn't go away despite opening the windows, lots of spiders in the rooms Rooms can do with a deep clean otherwise nice property

   We stayed at Riverside for 2 nights as part of our Hauraki Rail Trail trip. Spotlessly clean, comfy bed, amazing shower, and in an incredible location! Cycled out to Waihi and back in the afternoon after the rain had cleared. Highly recommend to anyone needing accommodation in the area.

   Wow. Just wow. This place is hands-down one of the best spots I've ever stayed. The location is absolutely magical, perfect for peaceful walks and soaking in nature. Anita is the best a host. She’s like your personal travel guide. Her recommendations were spot-on and made our trip even more memorable. Staying here felt like being wrapped in comfort and good vibes. If you’re even thinking about booking, just do it. You’ll thank me later.

   Have driven through the Gorge a few times and over a long weekend chose to stay here to soak up the outdoors, the walks and beautiful scenery. Great accommodation during my stay, friendly hosts, a very communal feel, highly recommended!

   The facility is cleaned everyday. Kitchen bench is spotless. Can walk into the kitchen barefoot without worrying rubbish stuck to the feet. Toilet is odourless. Shower is free of mould (you know… you can’t bear the sight of green moulds when you are in the shower). Stylish combination of bed linen, very homey. The outdoor hot spa pool is available 24/7, best for a hot bath especially when it rains. Windows are sparkling clean. On sunny day, I can see from the windows the mountains nearby. Walking trails are just across the road. The 1km long tunnel lit by red lights is mystic. A good hostel to stay over on the weekend if you are travelling around Paeroa.
