LOVED this hotel! The room was great: spacious, comfortable, well-appointed (a separate toilet and shower!) and well-designed. The layout of the room is great and felt very roomy. They provide comfy robes and complimentary snacks in the room, plus complimentary sparkling and still water on tap in the hallway of the floor of your room. This is incredible! Such a perk. In the morning, they also have complimentary coffee easily accessible outside the room. The laundry room and ice machine is a great perk too. The puffin bar downstairs is awesome! And the staff are all super kind, friendly and accommodating. They made us feel right at home. I can’t recommend this hotel enough!

This unique hotel has so much charms it’s nearly bursting. The decor and design details are superb and the thoughtful touches make this hotel special. The basket of complimentary treats the extra bathroom necessities cold drinks coffee and tea bar on our floor foyer. The location is magic as is the downstairs area and staff. Wonderful place and I will definitely stay again.

Great spot. Rooms are dark and cozy. Comfy beds. Great in-room amenities incl free drinks and snacks. Ice machine and laundry facilities available for guests on level 3. Friendly service. Location is handy to vibrant Cuba Street with plenty of eateries near the hotel.

An excellent boutique stay in Wellington We were welcomed warmly and brought inside out of the wind when we arrived. Check-in was friendly and straightforward, with just the right amount of info. We carried our own bags (which I prefer) and found our room was huge. Each floor has its own artwork theme, which makes the place feel individual rather than cookie-cutter. Downstairs, the Puffin Wine Bar is well worth a visit. It's also a bottle shop - there aren’t any drinks in the room, but that’s fine, just grab a bottle from the bar if you want one. It’s a much nicer setup than an overpriced mini-bar. Each floor has a self-serve tea and coffee station with filtered and sparkling water, which is a great touch. We were on the first floor at the front, right above the bar. It was a little noisy on Friday and Saturday nights, but that’s part of being in an active part of town. It didn’t bother us, but good to know. Overall, a really well-run, friendly small hotel that I’d happily stay at again. Total cost around $500 AUD for two nights.

We had an excellent stay in a dog-friendly room at the Intrepid Hotel. They included a Life of Riley dog bed (the same kind we have at home!), food and water bowls and even special treats for our pup. The room was immaculate and everything about the space and stay felt very thoughtful. The tea and coffee bar in the hallway was a life-saver in the early morning. The location is fantastic - very centrally located - and made getting around by foot easy. Although parking was not provided, the recommended lot was relatively inexpensive and easy to access from the hotel. We would definitely stay here in the future, especially if we were travelling with our dog!

We really enjoyed our 3-night stay at the Intrepid in Wellington. The location was super easy to get to - the city has an airport express bus that drops you off right at Cuba Street. And you're surrounded by cool bars and restaurants including the Puffin wine bar inside the hotel itself! Our room was actually larger than we expected and the bed was the MOST comfortable of our entire trip. Lots of boutique touches that made us feel our money was well spent. Our only minor complaint is that the staff didn't help much when we asked for some specific restaurant recommendations. But we would absolutely recommend to others and hope to stay again some time.

Would give this hotel a 6/5 if I could. Amazing, all around. Great location with wonderful touches to make the experience feel special - from chocolates with turndown and croissants in the AM, the always available tea, and the map with recs for things to do. Stay here and you’ll have a wonderful time!

This place is such Good Value for money! From the service, the sparkling water on tap, the little note on arrival gives such a personal touch plus the special surprise of the croissant and orange juice in the morning. Wow, it's the little things that make you feel like you are not a number but like a welcomed guest. Outstanding guys! We will be back!

This hotel is one of the best I have stayed at. The rooms and common areas have the coolest vibes, dark and moody with soft lighting. Colour scheme is on point. Small touches like sparkling water, morning croissants and turn down service with a chocolate each evening makes this one of the best boutique hotels around. Highly recommend.

Absolute favorite! We LOVED our stay in Intrepid and all the unique touches they add to make your stay one of a kind. The location is EXCELLENT - we were a 2 - 5 mins walk from the best bars in Wellington. The Puffin downstairs is also a great, quirky one. The breakfast spots nearby were fantastic as well and it was lovely of the hotel to provide vouchers to nearby restaurants. The staff were also amazing in collaborating with our dear friend who sent us a very touching surprise for our honeymoon. A strange obsession with taxidermy is evident in every nook and cranny of The Intrepid (which isn't our cup of tea) but otherwise 10/10.
