We rented their 3 bedroom apartment for 4 if us, it could sleep about 10 people. Amazing. I ternet was a bit spotty at times,
The room looked nothing like it did on the website and smelt like urine, or as if it had been flooded and not dried out properly. Very out dated, carpark was ridiculously small. Would absolutely not stay here again nor recommend it to anyone
Only down sides for me were the cramped parking at the front (much more spacious at the back), no wi-fi (probably a good thing really), and although Gucchi channels were available you had to use your own login to view.
I stayed for a week in March of 2025. I was by myself so it was good for me. All the amenities I needed. It wasn't perfect but it was good. If I ever went back to Christchurch I'd consider staying there again.
If you’re looking for a BUDGET motel, this is it. The room is good and the location is great however the room is dusty. Needs proper cleaning. The heater in our room wasn’t working but the staff were very nice and gave us a portable one to use. Place is secure and I felt safe.
Had a wonderful stay here. My partner and I moved down to Christchurch so I can study at the university. We had nowhere to go and Colonial Inn offered us longterm accommodation. The staff were very welcoming and understanding of our situation. We are so grateful for the team. It's also really close to city center and bus stops nearby for anyone visiting. 10/10 recommend. Would definitely stay again if we move and come back to visit one day. Good affordable accommodation and lovely staff members.
Very poorly cleaned. But we're able to cook .very old . Difficult to access shower, door opening wrong way..
Close to town but the motel is the pits. Mouldy net curtains, broken latches on mould rotten windows, extremely damp, kitchenette looked like inside cupboards had never been wiped, food in the toaster, mouldy rotting shower cubicle, nearly everything old, dated, rotting or in poor condition…..I suppose I got what I paid for…..cheap. Did expect a level of cleanliness, but I would say the cleaners would be pushing sh1t uphill with what they have to work with. Looks like place should be bowled. Neighbours banged around from midnight onwards. NOT recommend this place to anybody.
Basic, cost-effective accommodation 20 minutes walk from the city. Noisy neighbours audible from other rooms or neighbouring properties sometimes late into the night. Door keyhole/lock needing maintenance, one window not closing, and bedding not made on servicing, also some Netflix issues. The hotel manager took me to the hospital after having an accident in the room overnight - with no car and travelling alone this was very kind and am very grateful for his conscientiousness.
