“A BIG thank you to all the staff at Waipuna Hotel who took such wonderful care of my kids during their 4-day stay. They were so happy with the room, and we could truly feel the friendliness and kindness from everyone they met. I had a few requests for the Reservation Manager, and it was clear that every detail was looked after with care. We are really grateful for the effort and hospitality – it gave us great peace of mind and made their stay very special. Highly recommend Waipuna Hotel for anyone looking for a place with comfort, warmth, and genuine service. :)”

“15/09/25. Booked a four day stay and wasn’t happy with my initial room so I approached the team who gave me a much better room on a higher floor with a great view of the sky tower. Hotel is in a great CBD location, easy walking to the hospital where I was visiting relatives. Car parking though limited is easily accessible provided you don’t have a car that’s larger than a sedan. On site restaurant was okay. First time I’ve had room service served by a bot, so I couldn’t figure out how to open it to get my food. When I did manage to get it opened, the plates were placed on top of each other rather than on a tray - little bit disappointed. On top of that the advertised meal on the room service app via the TV was not what I was given. So I had to ring the restaurant again to get the remainder of my meal brought up. Breakfast was buffet style - okay choices and did not change on a day-to-day basis. The lady there every morning, who did the coffees was absolutely awesome - big thumbs up to her!! Room was lovely. Aircon was nice and strong and I thought the room size was okay given I am a large woman (size 18) and I managed to move around the room fairly easily. Bed was really comfortable. Would I recommend - overall yes I would!”

“My preferred stay whenever I’m visiting Auckland. The rooms are always tidy, smells good, the beds and pillows are so comfy! In my experience, the staff are lovely, prompt and helpful. Great, convenient location to shops and the viaduct but still nice and quiet, love staying here and will always recommend this to family as they have also had positive experiences at the Travel Lodge. I believe the Travel Lodge upholds an excellent standard in terms of hospitality, service and quality. Compared to some of the other places we have visited and stayed at whilst in New Zealand, the travel lodge remains a favourite! Thank you again for a wonderful stay. My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our time.”

“I felt a lot of racial bias during my check-in experience. We arrived early around 1pm (check-in was at 3pm), and I completely understand that early check-ins aren’t always possible. As a Platinum member, I had hoped for some flexibility but was told the rooms weren’t ready — fair enough. We went for lunch and returned around 2pm, and the rooms still weren’t ready. However, in the 30 minutes we waited in the lobby, I saw 5–8 other guests being checked in with no issue. When I asked the same front desk lady again if our rooms were ready, she simply said, “No, they’re not ready.” When I politely insisted that she check with the housekeeping team to see if at least one of our rooms was ready so we could freshen up, relax, and plan our afternoon, she finally checked and said, “Oh, one room is ready.” That experience was quite frustrating, especially because moments earlier she had made no effort to verify. What made it more upsetting was seeing a white couple walk in and book a room on the spot — the exact same category as one of mine (around NZD $370 per night) — and they were checked in immediately. I was told other guests had “different room categories,” but clearly that wasn’t the case. If that’s not discriminatory treatment, I don’t know what is. I paid for two rooms, valet parking, dinner, and plenty of drinks — the same or more than many other guests — yet was made to feel less valued. That said, I do want to acknowledge that the rest of the staff were absolutely wonderful. The valet parking lady was so friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant and bar teams were exceptional — genuinely warm, attentive, and kind. It’s just unfortunate that the check-in experience left such a negative impression, overshadowing what could have been an otherwise beautiful stay.”

“This hotel met every need perfectly! The room was nice, with a bathroom that was very space efficient. The breakfast buffet had many options, including a variety of dairy and non-dairy, milks, pastries, warm, basic continental food, and cereal! The rooms were quiet, and the location was superb. It was close to everything we wanted to do, including the waterfront, nightlife, local theater, and transportation! Ding dong is right across the street! And lots of grocery stores near by!”

“I don't have any bad thing to say about this hotel. Everything was perfect. 24-hour reception, close to the airport, free shuttle bus to the airport. The room was clean and well equipped - hairdryer, soaps and shampoos smelled great, big TV, balcony. I would also like to thank the lady at the reception. I overslept on the day of departure. My boyfriend called at the reception, she woke me up personally and the most amazing thing was that when I checked out the bus arrived at the airport and she ran after me with a bus ticket. I really felt that the staff cared about the guests. I can only recommend it.”

    Sudima Auckland Airport

“My recent stay at the Sudima Auckland Airport was genuinely outstanding, turning what is often a routine airport stopover into a truly memorable experience. From the moment I checked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, and the hotel itself feels modern, welcoming, and perfectly designed for comfort. The room was spacious, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and it was the ideal calm environment for relaxing before or after a long flight. However, the real highlight of my visit—and the source of the most fun—was the fantastic robot delivery service! Ordering food right to my room and waiting to hear that distinctive little chime was a blast. When the door opened and the robot, completely autonomously, was waiting there with my meal, I couldn't stop smiling. It’s such a clever and novel way to receive room service, and it adds a playful, futuristic energy to the entire hotel experience. It was speedy, contact-free, and honestly just delightful to watch. If you’re looking for a top-tier airport hotel with excellent amenities, comfortable rooms, great food, and a unique, fun feature that will absolutely make your day, I can't recommend the Sudima Auckland Airport enough. I’ll definitely be staying here again!”

“Came up for a work conference which was also held at the hotel. Great room, felt spacious due to the layout! Very clean and tidy, and conveniently located near the shopping mall. I was also genuinely surprised at how quiet it was considering the nearby road/motorway - barely a whisper of any vehicles out there. Big shoutout to Will on the front desk (I hope I caught the right name). He was super welcoming, made check in quick and easy and had a great sense of humour! A well timed addition to my own joke got heaps of laughs from myself and my peers and really made me feel like this was a home away from home, even just for one night :)”

The hotel staff were welcoming and attentive, ensuring a pleasant stay. The breakfast offered was satisfying, and the location, near Cromwell Park, was ideal for exploration. “I had a great experience here. The walk from the Intercity Bus stop to the hotel was quick and easy. I noticed upon arrival that there wasn't a ramp to get up, but during my stay upon leaving my room for the night I did notice a ramp. The service was amazing, the vibe of the hotel was really cozy, I ate at the Vie restaurant on the night I arrived, I had a delicious three cheese pizza and a tequila sunrise. I also added the buffet breakfast to my stay, it was very nice, they had a decent array of breakfast foods. The Chia pudding could of used more flavour, as I only got flavour from the fruit. The mushrooms as well could of used a bit more flavour, but other than that every thing else was yummy as!. My room was good, although it had a view of an apartment complex, but that's what you get when you're staying in the middle of the city. The amenities were great, having a coffee bar was good as I always need a coffee. Especially when I come back from a day of walking around the CBD, I can chill and have a coffee. The only confusing thing about the room, is that with the lights, you need to put your hotel keycard in the little slot next to the door, it was confusing for me for about a minute until I figured it out. Another downside I would say is the payment options when you book, so for me I like to pay in advance, they did give that option but you just had to pay the booking fee, and then you pay the rest upon your arrival. I had to email them about this, as when I checked my bank only $100 got taken out, so make sure you have money saved up upon your arrival. Other than that, I had a wonderful stay, thank you to the staff and the cleaning staff for your amazing work, and I hope to come back and stay again another time. - Tiegan C”

Our massage and sauna was excellent at the spa and sitting on the big, open balcony in the evening after a stroll on one of their bush walks was so relaxing. This was made even better by the food.
