The Sebel QWA is so understaff that you have to ring the bell at check in counter. When staff eventually arrive with cleaning tray, I'm apathetically asked "Can I help you". They can clearly see that I have luggage and the time is 2pm so obviously I want to check in. There is no energy, no enthusiasm, no smile and hardly a welcome. I don't blame the staff if the guest arrival person is also having to do cleaning. Entry and exit into the building is by pushing a button or swiping a card. On arrival the building is covered in scaffolding so hard to find the entrance. We were not aware that the building was undergoing external renovations until we arrived. There was no mention of this on the Accor booking site. We would never have chosen to stay. They upgraded me to a double bedroom apartment because I am an Accor member which is nice thought. The accommodation was tired and some of the furniture looked like it came from a second hand thrift shop. Mismatched dining room chairs, side table that was used as entertainment stand, small TV's in the lounge and master that are cheap and decades old. The bathroom had cracked tiles, peeling and bubbling cupboard doors, dirt / grub marks on the doors, cracked basin, shower head that kept falling and would not stay up to even shower properly. The first night when I switched off the bathroom lights a fuse / circuit must have blown as the bedroom lamps and power outlets on beside walls were no longer working. There was only one out of 3 lifts working and there is no where for guests to be picked up and dropped off. The only thing going for the hotel was the location and spacious rooms.

The hotel is clearly showing its age. While there’s been an attempt to refresh the lobby area, the guest rooms and furnishings are quite datedβ€”most of it feels like it hasn’t changed since the 1970s. The overall impression is that the property could really use an update; the accommodations feel tired and well past their prime. It’s also worth mentioning that the hotel doesn’t have its own restaurant. Your only on-site option is a small, separate cafΓ© that isn’t affiliated with the hotel itself. If you want a proper meal or room service, you’ll need to look elsewhere. Given the condition of the rooms and limited amenities, the price feels pretty steep. For the rate they’re charging, you’d expect something more up-to-date and convenient. I’d recommend looking at other options unless location is your top priority.

Stayed here for 1 night after a concert. The rooms were great! Central city but no noise. Nice and spacious. Yes, they are older. Yes, they could do with a revamp. But they were clean, tidy and the location was great. The bed was comfy. The shower pressure sucks but that's every apartment.

This is great for a few nights. Having a kitchen, lounge, balcony, and washing machine, it was fantastic! The location is great. It's in the nicer area of the CBD and close to everything. Getting a bus and train from here is super convenient also. I've already booked this place for my next stay.

Apartment was good, but a little dated. But the plus side, it had everything. For 9 nights it was a home away from home, with the residents being nice, the staff being amazing, and the facilities top notch, having a pool and gym. Laundry services in the apartment and the ability to cook simple items in your room. Located perfectly to make escaping Auckland city incredibly easy when you wish. Would definitely recommend.

Let me be clear the view, location and SOME of the staff are at least worthy of 3 stars so that's where the good ends. I checked in and was greeted but a wonderful young woman who I wish I could remember the name of (I believe she was late 20s early 30s & Indonesian?). When she told me my room was ready I headed up, to find the refrigerator in that room was not working. No big deal, head down stairs and switch rooms. From there a calamity of errors flows where each room is worse than the next, moldy floors, doors that don't lock, appliances that are filthy, on and on and on. Finally I come back down, lucky to find the same woman who greeted me and she goes and finds a manager who assures me they'll have a clean room ready for me asap. Asap winds up being nearly 5pm and this room is meh at best. I had to use dishwashing soap and powder to clean the walls of the balcony they were so gross but at least inside didn't have stained Lamps, moldy floors or chipped tile. Just a broken couch which at that point I didn't even complain about. The pool has been out of service for years but they still advertise it, the sauna was off when I was told it was allowed to be used, and the one time housekeeping showed up they walked in unannounced while I was in the shower. So kudos to that one lady who seemed to genuinely care, but this whole place needs an overhaul. Feels like you're staying in what's mostly an (older) apartment building not a hotel and you can definitely tell given that your view is mostly of newer towers of similar make-up. If you need a lot of space, and are doing a longer stay or with family etc, it's a great amount of space for value, just know you might have to be a bit of a Karen and demand a new room several times to get anything close to what you're paying for.

Terrible service! We arrived, they gave us keys that wouldn't work, went back, they gave us keys to a room someone was already in and we walked in on them, then they put us a in a room with one bed even tho we had booked for 3 adults and had the booking confirmation. All they did was say this is what you get when you book for 3 even tho thats not what the online booking offered and offered to bring up a roll away bed "free of charge" so we could actually all sleep. The roll away bed took up most of the lounge area. They said this was a room for 3 even tho there were 2 of everything. They lied and told us this is what we had booked so tough. There was also curry spilt all over the floor outside our room which was still there in the morning and stunk. Would not recommend!

We had a 1 bedroom apartment on the 14th floor. The apartment was spacious and very comfortable. There was a full kitchen with cook top and oven, dishwasher and microwave. There was also a full laundry with washing machine and dryer. The hotel is well located in the city with the harbour front, restaurants and supermarkets close by. We rate this hotel highly.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely young lady on reception. We had three rooms booked. I am aware of staffing issues so was well pleased when we could check into one of our roooms at 12.30ish House keeping was still dealing with the other two. We popped out for a spot of shopping and had also booked a taxi for 5.15 as we had a concert to attend. We're told we would receive a call when our other two rooms would be ready. None was forthcoming, realize pressure of post pandemic. We arrived back after 3pm No rooms, time is ticking, waited till 4, as we needed showers etc. The reception staff called house keeping so we could check-in to our rooms. Went down to get our booked taxi, hadn't been booked. Then the following morning popped out for breakfast, came back to a cleaner. Apologies, but I just went down to my sister's room to wait. Staff were lovely, room was good, just my experience was not the best

Very nice apartment in great location. Very clean and quite well maintained for age. Re Other comments about it being 'dated'.. the 1930s are also 'dated' but we call that Art Deco. This property is a great example of simple luxury of the 1990s and should be enjoyed as that. Lifts were always fast and available. Reception - Ursula? - could not have been more helpful or friendly! She is a true gem to the company. Cons - The pool has been closed for a year and yet it is still advertised on the website and unless you take special care to look carefully, you wouldn't know it's closed. The photo displayed of the one bedroom apartment with the glorious view of the harbour is false and misleading. We were on 14th floor and had a narrow view of the princes wharf between the buildings opposite and, if you stood out on the far end of the balcony and leaned out, you had a great view of the harbour bridge. The main view from within the apartment is of the buildings opposite. Honest photos are much better for ensuring happy return guests.
